It appears he was the creator of this wonderful oasis that we all love to frequent.

A few years ago JJ passed the site over to Doc Ibold, who later passed it on to me. Things had gotten pretty busy for JJ and he didn't have the ability to keep up with the site. I am still in contact with him from time to time, we last exchanged messages a couple of months ago, he is doing well and sounds happy. He checks in occasionally, the last time was the fall of last year.IvanTheTerrible wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 7:08 pm So who is J.J. Walters and what happened to him?
It appears he was the creator of this wonderful oasis that we all love to frequent. But why did he disappear? Does he ever drop by for a visit?
Hi S.B.,Styles Bitchley wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 8:01 pm James is super cool. He basically created everything. He used to be really active but that faded, along with the participation on many. There's only so many times some people can watch our old favourite before it's too much. The enthusiasm in the early years (in the wake of the DVD releases) was something to behold, however.
James joined the forum on Tue Jan 02, 2007 at 4:54 pm (according to his profile). So we can safely assume that was the launch date for the forum. The website may have been earlier, but I'm not sure. I didn't find it until 2008 and then finally joined in 2009. There was a big group of active people already here at the time, including JJ, IKnowWhatYoureThinking, Steve, Doc Ibold, N1095A, Sam, ConchRepublican, golfmobile, SelleckLover, and rubber chicken. I guess that makes Conch and Sam the true survivors!IvanTheTerrible wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 3:37 pm Thanks guys! Appreciate the input on our elusive friend J.J. or James. He certainly made a great contribution here!
I can imagine this place was buzzing when the DVDs started coming out in the mid 2000s. It looks like the site launched in 2006? Going by the date on the bottom of the main page. But I could have sworn I stumbled on this site a few years before the DVDs came out. Maybe as early as 2000 or 2001? Or am I way off? I was active on Mike Quigley's Hawaii Five-O site at the time and I could have sworn I stumbled on this site around the same time as well. I wasn't even a Magnum fan at the time but remember thinking this site looked cool, with each episode having its own page and screencaps.
Anyone remember when this site first appeared? Who was here from the beginning?

No. He just popped up one day and then disappeared, from my recollection. Grating arrogance, but quite a character.Luther's nephew Dobie wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 1:01 am Styles,
It looks to me you just about nailed the original company of ring bearers (as in Magnum's team ring) but what about Braddah Kimo, the Sauron of the bunch? Sure he still lurks in the shadows, ready
to strike back from his exile on Mount Doom in Mordor, but wasn't he one of the originals? Credit where credit is due.
Yeah, Kimo was a character, but not an early member. I forgot all about MACattack! You know who else was an early member: 308GTS. I remember clearly because he started the now ginormous estate thread in 2007 but was never a big poster. He has been around in the last year though, I think. I didn’t post much in the first couple of years myself but that’s changed a bit!Styles Bitchley wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 1:36 amNo. He just popped up one day and then disappeared, from my recollection. And then there was MACattack, the guy who seemed to only post about weed. Funny guy. He was obsessed with the pot growers they stumble upon in Ugliest Dog.![]()
Yes! Another Hall of Famer!
