I don't think so! We are trying to apply 21st century logic to something made back in the 1980's when the idea of having your own set of DVD's of the entire 8 seasons at your disposal to fast forward and pause, wasn't even a possibility. I don't think it is such a mystery as to why there are errors in continuity as they didn't have to pay as much attention to that at that time. As I have posted before, when we originally viewed each episode, you only saw it ONE time and possibly a second time in reruns. That was it!!! You never saw an episode again...until quite a bit later in syndication. I think Bellesario was looking for quality scripts, and if the continuity and other things were off, then it wasn't such a big deal. JMHO!!
