Congrats to Germany! I might add that would be the first time in my life I uttered those words;) So it's Spain v Germany...hmmm.....I'm going to have to put my money on Germany. I really thought Russia would have played a better match today.

With the match yesterday, how about the worldwide tv feed being cut out because of the lightning issues? Everytime we got the feed back somebody scored. German fans watching tv must have been on tenterhooks awaiting the score.

:D Icepick, if the Germans play like they did on wednesday it will be a big win for Spain I guess and somehow I hope that will happen, it`s always hard for the Euro Champion to win 2 years later the big one!!

That's a good point. Anything is possible though, but a hard task to win both.

I still can't get over that Germany-Turkey game! Turkey scores late on an unbelievable goal to tie it, then Germany just methodically marches down and re-takes the lead just before injury time! Wow!

That was crazy. And all the while I kept running to the computer to check the score when the feeds would crash.

I'm looking forward to the match tomorrow but I think I might be a bit hungover as I'm just about to head over to a huge bbq at a friend's place. We finally have great weather up here in the northwest Pacific. Or northeast Pacific depending where you live

Amazingly it ended only 1:0 for Spain. 4:1 would have fit better IMO.
Michael Ballack(our teamcaptain) said in an interview something like "we were in the Final here while for example Italy and the Netherlands did not come that far so we can be proud." I think that means "they are better than we are, but we had more luck"

Congrats to Spain. I'm about to die for some American football! I can't wait! It seems like soccer is pretty much year 'round ( I may be wrong about that). You guys are lucky that you get to see the sport you love on a regular basis.

Ya we pretty much do. We have European football from Aug until May, with Champions League scattered throughout this time as well. In addition to Uefa Cup matches. Then every two years we have the European Championships or World Cup in the summer. And then if you follow MLS in North America, it's season runs from the Spring until Autumn so one has got a full year of football.

I'm already in withdrawal now that Euro is over and have to wait for England's WC qualifying campaign to start in Sept.

In fact, I think soccer is pretty boring. Yes, I watch the big tournaments, like WC, Euro or even Championsleague, but real sport for me is BASKETBALL, especially NBA. Fast, athletic and always exciting...
