Would have like to see Rick interacting with Humphrey Bogart. Couldn't have happened, but I can see the look on Rick's face if Bogie walked into the KKC.
Higgins: You've washed the car?! How extraordinary. Why would you do such a thing?

Don Johnson as Sonny Crockett! I don't know why, I just wouldn't mind him on there. Along with Tubbs.
Out of my way before I run you down and enjoy it! - Thomas Magnum, Tropical Madness, season 2.

How about Kevin Costner playing the part of Joey Peterson in a flashback episode explaining a little bit about Magnum and Joey's relationship? Costner would have been the right age to play the younger brother.

This is off the wall, but how about Dana Carvey, Jon Lovitz, and Phil Hartman playing in the LA episodes as part of the stand-up tour where the lady comic got iced?

How about Joe Pesci? He could have been an underworld connection of Ice Pick's and a friend of Rick from Chicago. He and Jim Bonnick could have run a scam or two.

Come to think of it, we have enough good ideas that could have lasted 10 seasons!

Why didn't I think of this earlier? How about Jimmy Buffett? He and TS are the same age. JB was gaining popularity while MPI was gaining popularity. Both are laid back and the epitomy of cool...

What do you guys think?

Carmen,
I am sure others had the same thought.
We were just the only ones that would admit it.
Maybe that would be a good question.
If you could have starred on Magnum PI what character would you have been?
We all know Golf would have been a helicopter pilot.

I'm with Carmen and Sophia.... I would add myself to the story line...

I would be an ex vet that was a nurse near Siagon and TM and the gang would stop by between missions....

Of course I would wind up in Hawaii after I served....

I would pick Carol but I think I would have been too young for that role.
I was in my 20s when Magnum PI was filmed.
I would have rather been Robin Master's neice who lives at the
estate. I could have been Tom's sidekick and gone on some of his cases.
Also, I think I could have talked some sense into him on the subject of Michelle.

I would have been TSM's cousin who is visiting from the mainland, because of a nasty break-up with a boyfriend.

Higgins would put me up at the estate and I would tag along with TSM and the guys. My character would be as good as TSM at investigating, which would make him crazy

That's a no-brainer for me, I would be be Magnum of course. I was going to say without being shot ten times, but I guess to have those looks and that body, even if it was for only eight years of my life, well, you have to take the bad with the good.LOL.........

I could be Magnum's lost long son that shows up. Hey I was born in '69 so it could be feasible.

Adrian Paul as Magnums youngest brother. He is I think 14 years younger, would have been an interesting relationship. Maybe he just joined the Navy, I don`t see him like R.J. Masters (real annoying character)

It would have been interesting to see TC take the Airwolf helicopter for a spin.

When I saw the title of the thread, my first thought was Burt Reynolds, because I loved the running gag of Magnum being mistaken for Burt.

Lily mentioned Columbo, and I think that would have been awesome. I can see Higgins' reaction to Columbo's car, especially when he shuts it off and it diesels for a minute and then backfires. Columbo liked to make a pest of himself and get people flustered and riled up. There are lot of great potential interactions with the MPI regulars there (Higgins for example had great reactions to people who were irritating him).

Columbo would be my top choice in fact—such a great actor and such a great character.
