has anyone bought a team ring from ebay?

For all non-episode specific topics about the show, including MPI-related "tie-ins"

has anyone bought a team ring from ebay?

Just wondering if there was an ebay store that anyone could recommend. It's hard to tell quality from the pics and sadly most appear to be silver, but I can live with that.

Good question. None of the rings I've seen for sale on the internet are up to the quality I am looking for. I do have a gold ring with a black center that I am thinking of having melted down and custom made into a Team Ring. The only problem is that it was a gift from my mom about 15 years ago, maybe longer, and she passed away last October. Knowing her though she'd just tell me, "I bought if for you because you wanted it. If it makes you happy to make it a Team Ring then by all means make it a Team Ring!" So I probably will.

I know of two people from the MPI sites that have bought a ring and a pendant from a jeweler they found and they are both happy with the item....

I can ask for the name but it was a couple of hundred dollars each....

Hi Jonny..welcome to the board.

Six years ago there was a jeweler who sold the team ring in gold.I found his web page.In fact he did a ring for Jeff MacKay.

Link to his web page.

MacKays comment on the ring.

Hi gang! I've undergone a number of isp changes in the last months, so
have been remiss on our contact. Sorry about that, I've missed you.

Rob Morrone did me a great favor in promoting John Golebiewski (the
jeweler) to make me the ring. I LOVE it! I will indeed wear it on the
next JAG episode I'm in as well as anything else in which I can get away
with wearing it. Unfortunately, the shooting season for JAG is almost
over and the remaining episodes take place in the Middle East. However,
I'm told that next year, there will be more shows about my character's
family, so... I'll let you know, but it will not be at least until the
fall.

Meanwhile, note my new email address and know that I'll be more of a
participant (at least until the next isp move).

My best to you all, and thank you for your kind comments.

Mac

I believe that is the link on the Magnum Gear page. If I am not mistaken I thought someone said they cost around $500.

There's also Rocknrobbie, he has a website and sells some stuff once in awhile on ebay. I bought a team ring from him, since he owns one of the original molds (at least one version) from the actual series.Bought it from Warner bros. It's awesome! It's available in 10KT,14KT, and evern silver and Brass alloy for the lower end collectible, he has a few other goodies he sells as well.
It made me do it Higgins!!!

A 14k gold sold on eBay about a week ago for $545, the minimum that the owner would take. It was quite nice and looked very authentic. In fact, it was downright gorgeous compared to the silver ones.

I think that getting one made with gold obtained from old jewelry would be the way to go with gold prices outta sight right now

I bought one from the afore mentioned website in 2000.....I love it and wear it often...prices for the ring (I had mine done in 10K) vary according to the market price of gold. One regret....at the time I bought mine he was offering the ring in a regular size and a large....wish I had bought the large one (not that the regular is small....)

I have a ring from http://www.artist2.com/mpi.html and also from Robbie.

I prefer the one I got from Robbie, from all of the screen shots, it would appear to be more accurate and I feel like it fits better too. The other ring has too much gold on the sides IMO and it can be difficult to wear comfortably. They are both beautiful rings though, I don't think you could go wrong with either.

I bought the sterling silver ladies pendant here:

I wear it on a sterling silver chain and have gotten many complements. For $40-something bucks I thought it was a good deal. I also like the second ladies ring featured on that page.

Another Magnum fan from Houston! Welcome to the board!

I'm still thinking about getting my ring custom made into a team ring but haven't made up my mind yet. We'll see...

I've been wanting to get the pendant and really didn't want to do eBay. The pictures on the site you suggested are really nice! Looks like the winner :)

Welcome to the boards!
Higgins: You've washed the car?! How extraordinary. Why would you do such a thing?
