Contrary to the above article, not all filming was done on the Warners lot. For instance in season six's 4th episode, set in NYC, Efrem Zimbalist is filmed walking around Manhattan, right past
the Plaza Hotels side entrance, the same one Cary Grant entered in North by Northwest to go into the Oak Bar for a libation. I have lapped up a few there myself.
77 Sunset Strip is a fake address, all the street numbers on Sunset Boulevard have four digits.
Dino's was at 8524 Sunset Boulevard, the entire block was demolished in 2013.
Odd that you mentioned N x NW. I looked her up the other day. Eva Marie Saint hit 100 back in July.

And N x NW has one of the best pick up lines I've ever heard.

"The moment I meet an attractive woman, I have to start pretending I have no desire to make love to her."

There's more, but,...
Eva Marie, sigh, I had such a thing for her, and wondered why the girls in my 7th grade class didn't measure up to her. She's 100, hard to believe.
Dick Van Dyke is 98 and until just a few months ago was still doing appearances, then suddenly stopped, the reports I saw - in the subtext - seemed to me to be inferring he wasn't doing well at all.
From what I understand, Van Dyke says that he's rather be dead than go thru 4 more years of Trump.
"the 98-year-old actor said that he is fortunate he “won't be around” for the president-elect's second term at the White House."

I hate politics, especially when the supposed 'adults' act like spoiled brats.

Unless Mr. Van Dyke has a crystal ball he can't be certain he won't be around for Trump's second term in the White House. Or at least for some of that term.

He also referenced the same speech he gave in Los Angeles in 1964 along side Dr. King with regards to civil rights:

“Hatred is not the norm,” he read. “Prejudice is not the norm. Suspicion, dislike, jealousy, scapegoating ― none of those are the transcendent facets of the human personality. They’re diseases. They are the cancers of the soul. They are the infectious and contagious viruses that have been bleeding humanity for years. And because they have been and because they are, is it necessary that they shall be? I think not.”

I hope he does live to see the end of the upcoming presidency and perhaps it won’t take four years. To quote Dr. King: “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”

Please guys, lets not get distracted and go off on political tangents. I don't care about the political beliefs of people of whatever viewpoint.
This deep weirdness infecting our society where you first judge people by wether they agree with you politically has to stop, it's an infection fanned by
outsiders trying to corrupt our strongest foundations. Divide and conquer.
Van Dyke is a good man and beloved, the model of a good citizen who freely gives back to the community. Period.
There is no cause to stir the pot in regards to him as he is a dying man, it's in bad taste.
They will be running his work on the Mars Colony in 100 years, this is not some untalented buffoon.

PLEASE, this is the 77 Sunset Strip thread, lets keep our posts about that.
Why potentially drive away possible new members of Magnum Mania with petty squabbles?

If you want to start a new thread about politics, title it

"LETS DESTROY THIS SITE WITH PERSONAL INVECTIVE AND UNINFORMED OPINIONS AND WOE UNTO HE WHO DISAGREES WITH ME FOR I KNOW ALL".

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not respond here with more of this stuff. Post it to the above thread. Better yet, lets all play nice, myself included.
You can always drop me a private note if you feel you must.

The people who run MAGNUM MANIA have done a sterling job keeping it civil and making everyone feel welcome. Lets all thank them for that,
Conch, Doc Ibold, JJ, Styles, Pahonu etc. Drop them a note saying you appreciate their efforts. But no more here.

This is for 77 Sunset Strip. As Kookie would say, lets keep this place the ginchiest.

"Sit tight, live right and keep the lamp in the window"...Kookie

I agree.

Mr. Van Dyke is a great man and we should keep politics off this thread. And off magnum-mania in general. And now on with the Efrem Zimbalist show... ahem... 77 Sunset Strip.
