Mad Dogs and Englishmen (6.14)

Given the several references to the "dozens" of soldiers killed in the final shootout, I decided to go through the scene slowly and actually count them. There are 12 soldiers who visibly fall after being fired at. On two occasions, we see a group of 3 soldiers fired at, but only one is shown to fall. If we assume that the other two were also hit, that would bring the total to 16. So hardly "dozens", but given the outrageous number of rounds being fired off, I can see where the impression of "dozens" comes from. But still, as someone pointed out, TM does give Rick and TC a goofy smile in the middle of it all, which seems out of character. I chalk it up to an actual nod by Selleck to how silly the whole scene is, and the editor just didn't catch and/or get it.

I’ve always found this episode a bit on the ridiculous and silly side…but if I ever found a country, I know who will be on my flag!

How many vans (or license plates?) did they have? T.C.’s van license plate has changed to BYJ 536 from BSD 648. It also appeared earlier in the series as BCU 267 and 5N-6834.

How would Icepick know where Dothan invasion force was?

I watched this one tonight and I believe Rick says that Ice Pick had some contact within the arms dealers who were supplying the rogue guerrilla group.

I also think the flag with a caricature/portrait of Higgins in the bottom corner is truly memorable. He’d have made a great “second banana”.

Despite a preposterous premise I did enjoy this. Well done.

There never was any follow-up on the agents(?) who were pretending to be local police.

I liked the bit where Higgins notices one of the lads has his foot on Thomas', and he realizes they will be okay.
