Wait, I remember an episode with model airplanes!
That’s all I got.
Solid review.

Haha, I think McGarrett actually says "Book ME, Danno" here.

Wasn't this the dog-napping episode from season 11? "The Bark and the Bite". McG then gives a huge grin and then freeze-frame.

EDIT: But it's possible this was from an earlier episode. Jack looks a bit younger than season 11 here. He may have said "Book me, Danno" earlier too.

Hey Ivan, at risk of said bamboo cage torture, did you see the comments I made to TQ about seeing Jack Lord appear on Route 66 the other day? It was 1961.

You can see what a perfectionist Jack Lord was during that outtakes video.

That was the first scene he appears in and it’s a fairly long jazz piece.

Clash of Shadows

Nazis in Hawai'i again.

Not bad. Reminiscent of "Never Again... Never Again".

Kept me interested what was up with Yuri Bloch and Emil Klaus.

Dumb question: I kinda half missed it. My mind wandered when I was doing my weights. Why was McGarrett so intent on seeing that book in Klaus' office?

Was probably the key to the whole episode and I missed it. I should have "rewinded".

MPI: Elaine Giftos, George DiCenzo, Terence Knapp, Ernest Chan, William H. Fiddler IV, Winston Char, Barbara Kelly

Yep I saw it. Jack was in too many shows to count before he was on FIVE-O. Even after his starring role in STONEY BURKE (for one season, 1962-63) he went back to being a weekly guest star on the popular shows of the 60s.

He was very good (as the villain) in the first episode of HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL, "Three Bells to Perdido" in 1957. It's on YouTube - check it out!

You nerd, you! :geek:

I remember seeing that parade special some years back. Jack was a perfectionist indeed! Very much so.

Not a very good episode. It's another Nazi episode but pales in comparison to season 11's "A Distant Thunder" or MPI's "Never Again". You ask the question about McG wanting to see some book in Klaus' office and I have no recollection of what you're talking about. Just not a memorable episode. Honestly I don't even remember the basics about this one. I know that Albert Paulsen plays the Nazi Emil Klaus and something about Elaine Giftos helping Yuri Bloch (DiCenzo) recuperate because I think he's shot in the beginning. I think he was the Nazi hunter. But then wasn't there something about Bloch having some kind of a double? Basically George DiCenzo plays dual roles? It's all very foggy. Oh, I also remember that Paulsen's German accent was pretty bad and was very distracting. Drove me nuts! That much I do remember.

Also I remember some corny round-up of a bunch of blond and blue-eyed Nazis at the airport at the end, where McG couldn't even be bothered to get out of his car, instead yelling something in German at the Nazis getting arrested.

Mr. Mike says my confusion is normal.

I assumed they explained something about this particular book earlier in the episode that I just simply missed.

Why McGarrett was zeroed in on it so intently.

Seems they didn't explain it at all.
McGarrett seems particularly interested, for no particular reason, in one of the military books in Klaus's cabinet, "Battles That Have Changed the Course of History" which has a string bookmark in it. Klaus attempts to distract him with "a group of rare medals" and another book, "The Battle of Hastings."

McGarrett goes back into the house and the library where he takes the first "Battles" book and opens it to the page with the bookmark, where there is "an organizational list and plans for the rebirth of the Nazi party" with "countries, names, contacts, finances, the works." WHAT?!? This is really absurd, how does he know this information is in that particular book?
I guess the only explanation is he reached for the one book by fluke and deduced by Klaus' reaction that a strange thing was afoot at the Circle-K.

Yep, I guess that's the only thing that would make sense.

The "book 'em" meme above is from The Bark And The Bite, i.e., "Book *me*."

You can see the entire sequence here:

Same angle, same nods of head...

With regard to writing credits for To Hell With Babe Ruth, Freeman had nothing to do with this, as per the actual credits in the show. Freeman's name appears at the end of the show as Executive Producer. (I don't care what IMDb says...)
