Wasn’t finding it too groovy with the long drawn out conversations with McGarrett and the girl throughout.

Was thinking bit boring.

And then comes another great twist at the end. Bang, right in the kisser.

Great ending.

MPI: William Watson was a goon in one episode.
Might just be the best twist in the entire series!! It loses something on repeat viewings because you already know the twist and you know that L.B. Barker (who looks creepy as all get out!) is really in on the whole charade and he's not really out there on the streets making his way towards the hotel to get the girl. It's basically all in her head. You know he's already in the hotel just sitting around, waiting, and reading a newspaper. So what you're left with is the whole back-and-forth between McGarrett and the girl which does get a bit tedious and dull. But on first viewing it does pack a punch because, while the stuff between McG and the girl drags a bit, the stuff with Barker who appears to be in complete psycho mode and seemingly can't be stopped (as we see it from her point of view) is truly suspenseful! And then of course comes the twist and it's like... WOW!! It definitely works like gangbusters on first viewing!

William Watson plays a similar psycho type 2 more times, with his season 9 performance being a completely unhinged lunatic escapee!

Didn't

We

Meet

Didn't We Meet at a Murder?

Cool episode.

Solid.

Liked it a lot.

3 people. One hit.

Lots to the story with the carpet store and bank, etc.

Well thought out.
Knocking my rubber chicken or my sloppy habits is within the rules, but you're attacking my character. I would like to think you don't mean that.

A very intriguing episode indeed! Glad you liked it a lot. The more I watch this one the more I love it! Love how the words of the title appear on the screen one by one. Tells you this episode will be pretty unique. Sometimes I think I'm ready to add it to my top 5 for the season. Yes I do like this one more than No Bottles. :) I just love how the pieces start falling together as to what this whole scheme is about. But for a while it's all very mysterious. And 3 random people coerced into being assassins was a stroke of genius! Plus Kwan Hi Lim is the mastermind of the whole thing! You also have some pretty edgy stuff for the time when we find out one of the killers is a transvestite - that's the dark secret that the old respectable community leader was hiding, ultimately leading to him tossing himself out the window. Gotta love the obligatory shot of a woman screaming her head off as a body falls from a high-rise! Always happens on the show!

I think this is the episode where Chin Ho is surveilling on his walkie-talkie from the roof of a building. That's the shot which will be used for Kam Fong's title card starting with season 5.

Also watched first half of Follow the White Brick Road during weights.

Just finished second half so can comment.

Not much to say... didn’t think it was a very good episode.

Yep, one of the weaker episodes of the season for sure. Though I always liked McGarrett's line to David Birney towards the end - "You're out of the junk business, sailor". Did you spot Bosley from Charlie's Angels? This is the first appearance of the "navy theme" by Don Ray, a sort of navy fanfare that plays when we see the ship on the ocean. He also gave us the "military theme" back in "To Kill or Be Killed" which has this very somber and serious tone to it: http://www.fiveohomepage.com/music/military.mp3

R & R & R

Great episode.

Suspenseful. Good intrigue.

Brought up some emotions everyone losing their wives and husband.

Great ending McGarrett clicking in and doing a 180° back to the plane.

Jack Lord stood out in this episode for me for some reason. Good job.

MPI sighting: Bit part Jim Hutchison form Limited Engagement.

Ditto!! Very suspenseful and I still get the creepies when he knifes the visiting wife as she's taking in the scenery and throws her off the cliff! I mean you knew it was coming but still...

Yes, lots of emotion in this one. Soldiers dying in battle overseas and wives getting killed by a psycho over here. Kono and his "photogenic" memory ( ) and McG's light bulb going off as he 180's back to the plane was great! Oh, and when he grabs the blade with his bare hands... YIKES!!!  I always grimace in pain watching that part!

Good-bye, Kono, you big Hawaiian you. Make room for a slender Samoan.

Did they not know Kono was leaving the show at the end of the season?

Do they address it Season 5 episode 1?

Wait, don't tell me.

Yeah, I'm gonna miss the Big Hawaiian.

I believe the flap between Zulu and the Jewish reporter happened sometime during season 4 but I have no idea whether this was before or after they finished filming the season. Zulu was immediately fired. I'm sure he was gone before season 5 filming commenced.

And here's my season 4 ranking: (drum roll, please....)

1. Rest in Peace, Somebody -- this one is GOAT!!!
2. And I Want Some Candy and a Gun That Shoots
3. Wednesday, Ladies Free
4. Cloth of Gold
5. R&R&R
6. Didn't We Meet at a Murder?
7. While You're At It, Bring in the Moon
8. Odd Man In
9. Good Night, Baby - Time to Die
10. Bait Once, Bait Twice
11. Is This Any Way to Run a Paradise?
12. No Bottles...No Cans...No People
13. 3,000 Crooked Miles to Honolulu
14. For a Million...Why Not?
15. Skinhead
16. A Matter of Mutual Concern
17. Highest Castle, Deepest Grave
18. The Burning Ice
19. The Ninety-Second War, Part I
20. Nine, Ten, You're Dead

See, for a second you had me fuming because I thought you gave me your list and "No Bottles" was dead last on your list. Which is a capitol crime of course.

But I see you're just trying to egg me on with your school boy tricks. :? For this you get to swing in a bamboo cage while soaking wet under heavy jungle rain. :|

I thought T.Q. decided to rewatch season 2. :D

But I see it's Kee. :) It's a very good episode indeed, with a particularly great score by Richard Shores! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntzHypZ-gPc

Update.

Season 5 delayed.

I'm a creature of habit and watched 1-4 while doing my weights.

Unfortunately, I got diagnosed with R/A a while back and it's attacking my back so I have been sidelined.

If I can't resolve it a bit in the next little while... I will resume my watching sitting in a chair getting fat though. :?
