Linda Ryan always had a bit of an English accent in her performances I thought. No idea where she was born. I'm sure she lived in Hawaii because she appeared in all the Hawaii-based shows. She was in "The Big Blow" on MPI. Wasn't she the eventual culprit who wanted to knock off Robin Masters? Spoiler?
Looks like that be her.

The Big Blow (1983) ... Candice Wingate

It's funny because Jack Lord didn't like Al Harrington who replaced him (as Ben) but it was producer Leonard Freeman's call so Jack was overruled on that. But as soon as Freeman died and Lord took over the show poor Al was gone. From Al's recollections Lord didn't like that Al was too tall - I guess Lord didn't want anyone to upstage him. But then Zulu and Lord didn't get along either, which partially led to his firing in the first place.

Anyway I liked Ben and later Duke too, but I liked Kono better. I just liked that Big Hawaiian. :D
Yes, I read about that. I also heard that Lord ruled that set with an iron hand and it was a humorless place to work. What a stupid reason for not caring for someone because he was taller than you.

I liked Ben and Duke also. Never had anything against them but Kono was my favorite.

Was okay.
Thank you.

So you all watch Five-O episodes and talk about them? Not a bad idea.

Started watching and found out Ivan was a massive fan so we've been having fun discussing.

Just trying to survive and not get on his bad side if I don't like an episode he loves.

It's been a challenge.

Keeps me up at night.

I mean, just look at the guy.

I just want to sleep at night in my cool clean sheets yet Ivan prevents me.

I get horrible flashbacks.

Rest in Peace, Somebody

Great episode.

Sure kept my attention which, as you know, drifts while I'm doing weights.

There were shades of Death And Taxes with the taunting and the phone calls.

Magnum sighting: Danny Kamekona (Many episodes).

Enjoyed it.

"Some guys will do anything to get Kamehameha Day off".

Kee, "Pray Love Remember" is a very good episode. The great part comes at the end with the interrogation of the mentally-challenged Benny Apa. Ron Feinberg was excellent in the part and the revelation as to why he was lying all through the interrogation comes as quite a shock! "I don't got no driving license, mister". Great ending! He and his pet rooster ("Choo-choo" was it?) were great together! :)

And that, my frightened little comrade, is my ALL-TIME FAVORITE FIVE-O episode!!! :D

You're right in saying there were shades of "Death and Taxes" here. Actually when I first saw "Death and Taxes" I immediately flashed back to this, my favorite HFO episode. :) There's just something so riveting about this story where our hero is repeatedly harassed over the phone by someone with a deadly grudge, someone whose face we don't see until the very end. That's what really makes this story work! They don't kill the suspense by showing the face of the caller. The suspense in this episode is so thick you could cut it with a butter knife!! That's why this one is by far my favorite. I also really love the part where McGarrett keeps playing back the conversation and gets stuck on the "tin idol" part. Slowly he begins to flash back to where he remembers that line from, as he plays that part over and over and over. Suddenly it all becomes clear and you see Cameron (Norm Alden) in the flashback yelling "TIN IDOL!!!" Chilling stuff, love it!!

"You stink worse, dummy".

Yes it was. I can remember the first time I saw this episode and how it hit you right at the end as to why he lied. 'I run some and I walk some.' That was something McGarrett could not believe. Ron Feinberg did say this was one of his most enjoyable roles. And you were right, the rooster was named Choo-Choo.
