That's a fair chunk of change, for any house! It's all land value! But what a great piece of property.
Thanks for posting the link
On the same topic, does anyone else remember seeing, many years ago, ads in travel magazines, listing the Anderson estate for short term rentals?

Higgins: You've washed the car?! How extraordinary. Why would you do such a thing?

Hi N1095A,
I'm not sure what category the estate falls under but there are two types of ownership in Hawaii.
Fee Simple- which makes up roughly 40% of ownership and you own the land.
Leasehold-The land is owned by the state or a trust.
I'll see if I can find something on this.
Edit to add.

If it is Fee simple, $6.5m seems a little on the low side. However this is assessed value, and as someone stated, actual market value is likely higher.Sam wrote:Hi N1095A,

By the way, from all the H50 grabs, does it seem to anyone elas that the inside of the actual estate (main house) isn't nearly as nice as the MPI studio portrayed it?

The tax site seems to have been changed recently. In order to get the data, I had to first click on the "Search" tab at the top of the page, then enter the address as 41-505 in the first box and Kalanianaole Hwy (not Highway) in the second box. It doesn't seem to want/need the town or ZIP Code.
On the Parcel Data page, under "Owner Type," it says "Fee Owner" -- so apparently it really is Fee Simple, not Leasehold. On the Assessed Values page, it gives land assessed value as $5,885,900 and building assessed value as $637,100.
