Good source! So was it "La Bulle" or "Le Bulle"?
Anybody here speak French? Does "bulle" actually translate to "bubble"?
I got the feeling from the episode that he was supposed to be more of a "bull" -- maybe somebody was lazy with their translation!
I tend not to trust the subtitles*, so I ordered a copy of the pilot script**, and as you can see below, it is without a doubt*** "La Bulle".
Who knows what they meant? I've always assumed they meant "The Bull" in the sense of a tough-guy gangster nickname, a la Sammy "The Bull" Gravano, but I do like the suggestion someone made here that they actually meant the literal translation of bubble, because of his "invisibility". Seems a little highbrow for Bellisario, but You Never Know.
*Among the many errors I have found in the subtitles**** are the repeated use of a capital I (i...as in g,h,i) where there should be a lower case l (l...as in j, k, l).
** Thereby proving the maxim that a fool and his money are soon parted.
***Unless the script copy I ordered is also a mistake-riddled knock-off.
****at least the ones I have downloaded off the interwebs.
