I personally made several suggestions to Lenkov that the 308 should be replaced. Even gave him an easy, convenient way to work it in.
example: It took a while for the insurance company to locate just the right replacement, since it is now a "classic" with the years that have passed since it's introduction. They found it, they bought it, they shipped it to the estate! They ARE still around...some with very low miles and in near new condition. Some are even better than new, with upgrades. Not cheap...but definitely available.
After all, in "Juliet's" own words..."Robin loved that car." How could they NOT replace it if it is at all possible!
Then Shiggens can "give" it to Magnum stating that he's barred from driving the "new" ones....at least until he destroys this one..or renders it undrivable. Any number of possibilities exist. Could be a running part of the show...Magnum drives the 308...breaks it...then has to drive one of the 488's...308 gets "fixed"...rinse and repeat!
Would be nice if the 308 were brought back..it is such an integral part of the original show...iconic doesn't even really describe it accurately. It, to me, was as important a part of what the show was, as was the estate, while we're counting "props, and not people.
Not gonna hold my breath though...even if they DID bring it back.....Jay would probably run it off a cliff again in the first episode he drove it!
