Did anyone see the E! True Hollywood Story about Magnum PI? Is there any way to get it or see it these days?
Welcome aboard revruss.....I saw it when it first aired in 2001 and know it has been repeated over the years.Unless someone has a copy they would be willing to make for you, you'll have to wait until it's shown again.
It is not scheduled to air this month but keep checking the schedule.

Revruss,
The show was very positive.Hillerman claims it was the best 8 years of his life.Kathleen Lloyd still missed the show.
From what I remember, the only problems were with Mosley in the first season. There was talk that he wouldn't return for the 2nd season.
It's amazing that Manettis book is selling for upwards of 100 bucks.I'm tempted to go to the library and steal one...oops...Sorry rev lol
Stick around, there are a couple of people on here that can recap the show and you won't need to watch it.

Welcome revruss!
Unfortunately, they don't air it very much anymore.
In the meantime, if you havn't already seen it, here is a nice 9-minute clip from Selleck's A&E biography show, focusing on the Magnum days...

I assume you guys are quoting prices from Amazon or eBay? You might want to check out your local used-book stores. I bought a copy (a few years ago) at Half-Price Books in Indianapolis for -- duh! -- half the original cover price!Sam wrote:It's amazing that Manettis book is selling for upwards of 100 bucks.I'm tempted to go to the library and steal one...oops...Sorry rev lol

Don't give up on finding the book cheap. I was looking for Short Timers forever it is the book Full Metal Jacket is based on. Everywhere I looked they wanted at least fifty bucks for a shoddy paperback copy. I was browsing in a used bookstore one day and ran across a decent paperback copy for two bucks! [

A new-book store tends to have pretty much the same books in stock every day in the short run, because if they run out of a popular title, they reorder it. But a used-book store can't do that -- their inventory is never the same from one day to the next, so the employees don't necessarily know exactly what books they do or don't have on hand. Some stores will save your wish list, but policies vary -- ask for details.
That's why it's generally best to just stop by once in a while. The downside is that you're likely to run across a lot of other irresistible books!
