I have been meeting up with an old James Bond friend and we touched the topic of the MPI reboot.

We won't get back Selleck and Hillerman and a lot has changed over the last 35 years.
If they'd made MPI reboot as a generic action series, I'd understand all the hate that the new series gets on social media.
However, there are so many elements from the old shows, so many respectful nods to the old series and there is so much to still love about the reboot.

And yes, I get it, Hernandez is short.

I've tried to explain the hate for the reboot to my 007 friend like the common "There is no other James Bond than Sean Connery" guys.

If the producers would have followed their gospel, the series would have stopped in 1970 and we'd missed out many great James Bond movies and Actors since then.

I'm reminded that season 2 of the original series gave us "Billy Bob" so there is hope that the new series will improve I think it is a matter of finding its legs, it s audience and a way to be true to the original while being its own.

That's what I find interesting, I rarely was negative. Early on, when posting bad reviews I'd refer to MiniMag or Fakenum, PC but for months now there have just been GIFs of our Thomas or Higgins in response to the reboot. More Telltale Heart than anything else.

It seems this was the last straw.

Just looking at the vids was making me nauseous. All I saw was Dirty Harry-type one liners, overacting to the max, and every time Minimag is seen, he has this scowl on his face like he wants to be a foot taller.

I think you might be following this show more closely than actual fans do!

Are you watching the show still, or just keeping up with reviews and following Twitter feeds? Or something else? I'm genuinely curious since the reboot seems to have a strange magnetism. It's hard to just ignore that there is a TV show out there called Magnum P.I., but which isn't the show we all are so familiar with.
