Are they sure the remains are native Hawaiian? Maybe we've finally found out what happened to Ivan's body.Rembrandt's Girl wrote:Turns out that during an archaeological inventory survey, there was a discovery of a single location of human skeletal remains found on the property, believed to be Native Hawaiian, and "preservation in place" is being explored. Preservation in place means the remains would stay on the property and the owner will have to somehow build around the location.
I'll be posting some screen caps in a bit...
Let's hope the remains are native Hawaiian! I'm sure that's what they are up to right now doing ground surveys, grids etc.. I'm very interested in hearing out what they find out....man, woman, possibly someone of great importance or not etc..K Hale wrote:Are they sure the remains are native Hawaiian? Screen caps with more info...Rembrandt's Girl wrote:Over the summer I was lax in checking the status of any permit info for Pahonu, and I apparently missed a major update! An application for subdivision was submitted for two lots and the development of two homes.
However, there was a letter of deferral mailed to the owner, so I did some digging to try to find out why. I am not buried on the property I assure you. I am alive and well and posting away right here!KENJI wrote:Let's hope the remains are native Hawaiian! Your Ivan theory is funny though K Hale....if it was real, you would have yet another Russian (granted a dead one) interfering with a President.
I was thinking the same thing, Kenji... there definitely may have been some fibbing going on from the buyer. If so, we're talking Kapu and Karma with a Kapital K. You know, like taking lava rock or sand from Hawaii? Kursed for life! ( http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/3901 ... y-tourists ) Hey, maybe we're seeing the first signs of that with the discovery of Mr. Bones on the property!KENJI wrote:WOW RG - What an update - UGH!!!!![]()
I know Eve was looking for a buyer who would keep things intact for the most part.....well that doesn't appear to be happening....first the house goes and now they are trying to carve up the land. I remember hearing way back there were a few other interested parties who originally wanted to subdivide and Eve didn't want to go that route. It appears the new owners may have played her a bit by telling her what she wants to hear and to be fair, offering the most money. Once they signed the paperwork they could do whatever they wanted with the place......at least until these bones were discovered......fingers crossed they find some more!

But according to RG's article Eve actually lived there prior to the current owner and was the one who sold the property. Silly me, I thought she was dead and the property was sold by some other entity.![]()
By the way you can get a quick glimpse at Eve in the season 1 episode "Beauty Knows No Pain". She's one of the contestants in the Iron-Man competition who comes out of the ocean just ahead of Magnum. She looked like she was maybe in her early 50s there. Maybe that's why I got the idea that she had passed away. Surprising that she was in such great shape at that age to compete in the Iron-Man triathlon, which she really did in real life (not just in that episode).

She also doubles Higgins in an episode climbing one of the coconut trees on the property (which has been reported she would actually do)....
