MPI Reboot Filming Locations

Re: MPI Reboot Filming Locations
No Ferrari's, just a bunch of rental trucks with MPI labels on them along with generators etc. The property you mention was often used on the original H5O (and probably Magnum) but it was the original house. The funny thing is that Royal Place was the "low rent" district of Kahala ocean front (a relative term of course). Those houses are tucked in behind Black Point so views are obstructed and the prevailing currents make that area a bit of a backwater; brackish and lots of garbage accumulation.
In recent years the whole Diamond Head (south-west) end of Kahala Avenue has lost all its beach. All those homes have waves hitting their seawalls even at low tide. The current fad is to blame it on rising sea-levels but that's BS as there has been no change in sea level in Hawaii, the real reason (as is almost always the case) is sea walls. When a seawall is built there is inevitably a gradual loss of sand in front of it. It may take decades but the result is always the same.

If it's the Blue Roof house that's the same house that was used in All Roads Lead to Floyd.

..
Hi Karolis
If you check with the rubber guide you'll see that they are the same location if you're getting the information off of the episode guide that was incorrect
Easiest way and quickest way is to look at the house at the end of the street when Floyd and TM leave the party and then compare it to the street view

You're right. I looked the place up on episode guide. I couldn't open rubber chicken's guide on Google Earth, but i compared the houses to the "All Roads Lead to Floyd" and "Ghost Writer" episodes.Sam wrote: Hi Karolis

It's nice that reboot was filmed at the same place, there's the Coops beer, Ferrari 308, rings, watch, new Rick's Mercedes is successor to the original, T.C.'s chopper, lads, Robin Masters, etc. I wish they would put more thought to the plots and characters, because from the trailer it looks over the top action and humour. I wish that the man who assembled this trailer didn't know what is important and that in the movie and series itself it won't be just cheap action.

Hi karolis..... I think with a lot of these homes they are second homes and the owners are willing to rent them out for filming.. there are or were 4-5 homes on Kahala Avenue that were used in the original HFO and also MPI.karolis wrote:You're right. Re: MPI Reboot Filming Locations
It seems like the kids were set loose in the candy store with no supervision. Why do we have to CGI the Estate? Doesn't that get expensive over time?
Actual locations and grounds add depth and continuity, The Estate was basically a character of it's own.
