MM Poll - Would You Watch an Episode of the MPI Reboot?

So, if there were to be a Flemingo Key pilot viewing party .....

Are you kidding...Count me in and show me some of those wonderful concoctions you make in that blender.....

Mrs. Conch tossed the idea out there last night (trying to talk me off the reboot ledge) and it does have some merit. Maybe I can even contact my Cozi peeps and see if we can work out something.

A 9:00 show in the fall may be dark enough to project on the big screen in the tiki hut.

I believe this would run a close second to visiting the estate, but at present, I don't see it being any more of a reality for me.

If I had my Stinger ready to roll, I'd even consider it. Guess I could drive the Lincoln.....I'd love nothing better (outside of a Pahonu visit..) than to be able to finally meet and share a long neck or two, while viewing the "redoux" of our favorite PI ( Private Investigator) show. Flying couldn't be that much, strictly a guess, but if this happens, I'll have to check it out for sure.

At any rate, should this become a reality, please keep us posted!

An outdoor viewing at the famous Flemingo Keys Tiki Bar might be the hottest ticket in town that night.. I'm presuming there will be a dress code- only your finest Hawaiian shirt and shorts.
I bet Peter will get Coops and Old Dusseldorf labels done up to put over the beer, Macho Tacos and pickled eggs will be served followed by a cigar at the end of the show. You should have a trivia quiz made up with a fun gag gift/prize for the winner i.e.... rubber chicken, magnifying glass etc.. I could see Cozi being very interested in such a red carpet event.

This maybe sounds cheesy but I ask myself, will Tom Selleck be watching the new Magnum P.I.?

I bet the answer, even though he even works at the network, would be NO.

Will be hard but I think I’ll pass. Maybe, MAYBE, watch the first episode.

I really almost have this feeling Thomas, Higgins, Rick and T.C. were part of my family growing up.

Can’t be replaced so... why watch.

Will the storylines be that amazing? Probably not.

Anyways, just my take.

I'd only watch if you paid me...say $50 per episode. I think it will be about as bad as the reboot of H50 another one of my nostalgic favorites. I think the only way a person could possibly enjoy the Magnum reboot would be if you're completely unfamiliar with the original, or if you can consider the reboot in a vacuum as a totally separate show.

I agree with Styles about an Ultimate Magnum Fan review featuring the one and only Conch Republican! It should be a live event, with questions and comments by the members. Having the reboot producers/directors present would be a wonderful bonus!
