Re: HORSE RACING ANYONE?
Magnum Moon won the Arkansas Derby by 4 lengths and is now the favorite going into the Kentucky Derby. He went off at approximately 4-5 and paid $3.60/$2.80/$2.40. That means J.J. would be paid $600 on a $500 show bet. Congrats!!!

Here is the race and a bit of info on Magnum Moon.....
https://www.horseracingnation.com/horse/Magnum_Moon# I'm impressed! No one was drafting off of MM in the final stretch with that move! Surprised MM went so far outside though instead of keeping it a bit tighter to the rail. Sure you don't want to get boxed in or anything, but you give up valuable time that way.....it didn't matter in this race, but it might down the road.

Re: HORSE RACING ANYONE?
Magnum Moon is running in the Kentucky Derby this weekend and is starting in the 16th post position. The early odds are 6-1 making Magnum Moon the third favorite.
Re: HORSE RACING ANYONE?
I'm not a horse racing bettor but I am going to go to an off-track parlour not too far from me Saturday and put $20.00 on MM. Hope the odds don't go any lower than 6-1.....KingKC wrote:Magnum Moon is running in the Kentucky Derby this weekend and is starting in the 16th post position. Re: HORSE RACING ANYONE?
MM didn't like the WET conditions out there that's for sure......finished a disappointing......19th.
I bet the horse was struggling to see where it was going in that mud bath!
Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

I wasn't even able to make a bet at the sports restaurant/OTB I went to as they were so crowded I was told the line was over an hour long for the betting windows. Saved myself $20.00KENJI wrote:MM didn't like the WET conditions out there that's for sure......finished a disappointing......19th.

Guess Magnum REALLY DID like Mendelsohn....stayed right with him to the end!

"C'mon TC...nothing can go wrong!"
Re: HORSE RACING ANYONE?
I boxed Magnum Moon, Mendelssohn, and Lone Sailor to complete my Magnum Mania master bet and you can see how I fared...lol
I couldn't resist, I woke up on Cinco De Mayo, realized it was Kentuck Derby day and that Magnum Moon was a horse in the race all after I dropped off a few photos in the mail to Mr. Selleck himself for a hopeful SASE autograph!
It really felt like a Magnum episode and I had to chuckle that 2/3 came in DEAD LAST...
Then I watched "Home from the Sea" and "Solo Flight" in the evening. It was a good day
