Looks like they picked some of the best TS Westerns and Magnum episodes :D

It looks as though Tom is in a bit of hot water for allegedly taking water for his farm......

The water district even spent $22,000 on a private investigator.....I'm sure Magnum would've loved that case!

I saw that this morning and thought, "Ouch!" On the other hand I seriously doubt Tom is driving his water truck from the avocado farm down to the hydrant. There's more to the story.

Indeed, if anything this was probably a contractor used by many avacado ranches in the area. I wonder how many of the do gooder's that are going to jump on this story have huge leaking swimming pools in their backyards....

If I had his money there is no way i would stay in this country.

I just realized Hillerman was in Chinatown. The plot of that movie involves diverting water in southern California. Hmmm...maybe Paper War never ended...

I just saw a clip of Selleck on David Letterman explaining about how he's had to truck in water for his avocados because of the drought. It's not a totally unusual practice and he certainly wasn't hiding anything talking about it on national TV. My wife stayed at a hostel on the central coast and she told me they were having water trucked in. I'm wondering if knew where the water was coming from. Interesting stuff, none the less.

Seems like TS is just destined to have a private investigator in his life.......one way or another!

None of us here would EVER think for an instant that TS would "steal" anything from anybody for any reason...the man is just not wired that way.

Does put his name back on the front page for a bit, even if it's in the lower left hand corner.

You know what they say in Hollywood...."There's no such thing as "bad" publicity." :magnum:

Glad it all got worked out, and it would still be interesting to hear Mr. Selleck's version of the tale.

Thanks for the investigative reporting KENJI.

We should have a pledge drive to help Tom out. Maybe a "Get Wet" telethon or something. Does Coops make bottled water?
