Robin's Nest visit April/May 2015
i visited Pahonu for a few days on my trip last week. the Sunday i went by there were people on the grounds(new owners?). it looks like they were working on the home, and the grounds are being picked up. yard bags filled up, etc. the weeds at road have been taken down and almost all the foliage to the left of the gate. from the water it looks like the chimney was recently painted(diff color for sure) and porch much cleaner from the tarp and things i saw a year ago. this could be good news. here are a few photos.
actually im not sure how to load them from my computer since its asking for a url. ill share if someone can walk me thru it

Sounds like very good news!
So glad to hear work is taking place and it looks like the grounds/estate is being cleaned up. Anxious to hear/see other's reports as they become available.
As to the pictures, I've always had to use a hosting site like: http://www.photobucket.com
Below is instruction from the FAQ section of this forum, outlining the procedure for posting images in your posts:
» Can I post images?
Yes, images can be shown in your posts. If the administrator has allowed attachments, you may be able to upload the image to the board. Otherwise, you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.example.com/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor images stored behind authentication mechanisms, e.g. hotmail or yahoo mailboxes, password protected sites, etc. To display the image use the BBCode [img] tag.
I'm not all that computer "literate", and I was able to do it a few times, so I'm guessing just about anybody can "get er' done". If you can't manage it, I'm sure there'll be somebody chime in that is better able to explain it in step by step detail, so you can further share your experience.
Always great to hear about somebody's trip to paradise, thanks for posting!

Agreed and seconded!

Thanks for taking the time to post your pics.
Looks like there's still public access to the tidal pool, and no "restrictions" to stopping out front.......thus far......hope it stays that way.
Those may be the best shots of the gate house to date. (That I've seen anyway!

Kind of have to wonder about the fate of the boat house though.....doesn't look all that "healthy"....as always...time will tell.
Thanks again for sharing.

Great shots ClayMannPI!!!
It looks as though you were there bright and early. It's nice to see the gate house from that angle!
Did you take a shot or two looking over the cleared section of the rock wall?
I'm sure changing the mailbox is also on the Honey Do List!
Don't worry too much about the tidal pool 308GUY...there will always be public access. I could see a few short term restrictions when someone important is in town visiting the Nesbitts,
but nothing permanent.
Thanks again ClayMannPI!

Re: Robin's Nest visit April/May 2015
Hey guys,
I got there at 5:45am just before the sun started coming up for some of those pics, a few are from other days.
I did some creeping along fence but didn't really want to pull out a camera because I never knew if the owners would come by, and if they had I would of then asked to take a pic beyond the gate. I have gone beyond the gate before(had to recreate first few min of episode one) but don't like to share as I might not of had permission... And I really didn't want to do it again as I'm sure while fun can't be fair to the new owners.

Wow those are some great pics !!! ... I can only think of a few places I'd check out at Sunrise, but MPI's digs would be one of them (jet lag might helpClayMannPi wrote:Hey guys,

For 308Guy - I think access to the Tidal Pool is safe, it's my understanding "Private Property Rights" begin at the mean high water line ... I'm sure the new Owners factored in the "star value," into their offer price - So I think they'll just have to deal (unless they get a pair of great swimming Dobermans

Re: Robin's Nest visit April/May 2015
Those photos are beautiful!! Brings back memories.
Re: Robin's Nest visit April/May 2015
Interesting to have a clear view of the gate house. Also, when I was there, I took a picture of the main house similar to the one posted (from the beach). Ah memories.. Thanks for sharing!
By the way, during my visit of Pahonu, there was a dog in the neighouring estate, a German Shepherd, which kept barking while I was there trying to see as much as possible. I think I have a photo somewhere, should look it up. I don't suppose that dog is still there, as my journey was almost 10 years ago, but at least, there somehow was a replacement for the lads... (ok, not the same dog, only one instead of two, and neighbouring estate, but that's as close as it got, not really a replacement but a reminder).
Must admit I'm still envious but if the new owners decide to have two Doberman Pinschers guarding the place, I might be reconciled a little. Not much, just a little

I know what you're thinking. And you're right.
Re: Robin's Nest visit April/May 2015
Leave it to the German Shepherd! LOL! My favorite dogs! Work and train with German Shepherds, so I have to say that I laugh to hear one is guarding Robin Nest's neighborhood. The lads, of course, are irreplaceable.
