Was Agatha wealthy?
Agatha was kind of a mystery during the course of the show. Her background wasn't revealed very much. She was involved in a variety of different charitable causes and organisations. She was also in social circles with Higgins. "Professor Jonathon Higgins" made it seem like she wasn't very wealthy as she was driving an older car and made it clear she couldn't pay back the lost money to the charity. She was also a little worried about what Magnum's fee would be. However, in other episodes she comes off as being fairly comfortable financially. Anyone know how wealthy Agatha was supposed to be?

I don't think she was wealthy. There was an episode where we entered her home. Perhaps some of the experts here can recall the episode?
She lived alone and had a modest home, nothing extravagant like the estate but very clean with a lot of antiques. I think she had a small yard too. Perhaps she came from a middle class background.

I remember the episode, the house looked like it was just a regular residential neighborhood area of Honolulu. It was when Jonathan said he decided to marry...

I really wanted to visit that house and made it with the help of RCs excellent guide.Hawaii Winds wrote:Sisophous wrote:I don't think she was wealthy. There was an episode where we entered her home. Perhaps some of the experts here can recall the episode?

Not sure about the real estate situation on Oahu, but the neighborhood around the house is simply gorgeous!
Anyone has an idea of the rates for houses on a place like that?

Re: Was Agatha wealthy?
Judging from the last pic showing the entrance, it looks as though it's a relatively small structure?

Not small but not large. If you click on the link Sam posted it is a 5 bedroom home with only one bathroom but sits on .27 acres. It has a decent size backyard, almost no front yard, but is all garden in the backyard from the Google images.steveadl wrote:Judging from the last pic showing the entrance, it looks as though it's a relatively small structure?
I wonder how the director comes to pick out homes for shooting. I imagine it was for rent and so they chose to use it for the show.
