I was watching the TV coverage last night and today on BBC News 24. There are no words. I just despair at the sheer evil of some members of the human race.
I grew up in the 70s here in the UK and terrorist attacks by the IRA were so frequent then, it was just something I was used to hearing about. But I remember seeing the news footage of 9/11 and, even though I'm on the other side of the pond, being utterly horrified and disbelieving. I still can't watch footage of the towers collapsing, it just upsets me too much.
Then we had the London tube and bus bombs, and I felt as you do now, so very very angry. I grew up in South East London and used to work in central London in the 1980s - I used the tube every day then, London was my back yard, and it broke my heart to see the poor victims and their loved ones, and what had been done to "my" city.
So my thoughts are with you all on the other side of the pond, especially all the Bostonites. Let's hope the person responsible is found soon. xx
