I was worried about the first link, ts reluctant to be magnum, but reading the article it makes it sound like he would do Magnum under the right circumstances:

Tom Selleck is reluctant to reprise his role in Magnum, P.I. because he fears harming the legacy of the television show.

The actor is well known for playing private investigator Thomas Magnum in the popular 80s TV series.

While shows such as Dallas have recently returned to the small screen, Selleck isn't sure about resurrecting his famous character.

''I am proud to have made Magnum an icon and I don't want to harm his legacy,'' Selleck told German newspaper Hamburger Morgenpost.

''Teenagers are usually hired for remakes and the original cast are only handed foolish guest appearances,'' he said.

Asked if receiving $US1 million to appear in the show would make him reconsider, Selleck said he's ''known for changing (his) opinion.''

The 67-year-old actor also divulged what happened to Thomas Magnum's famous Hawaiian shirt.

''I bequeathed it to the National Museum in Washington.''
