Not in Hawai'i. And we are in Hawai'i. As was MPI. It is called 'context'. And when someone sez; "...da dude was wearing a thong fer christ's sakes!" a resounding, spontaneous "EEEWWW" is chorused throughout.

"Do you guys always dream about Magnum in his underwear?"
No. Not always. Sometimes we dream of Agatha in her underwear.

Apart from more or less unintentional misunderstandings

- some are just too good to be left out - there are quite a few more episodes with Magnum wearing his sandals, usually together with the bath robe. He seems to have a pair with some light colored (white?) middle sole...

Yes! Check out the 'Scott Hawaii' site, they still make "thongs" close to those! That's what I remember, bathrobe and thongs!

My wallpaper on my computer is that shot of Magnum, bare-chested, with a phone in his left hand, with the sea in the background...... makes me smile every time I fire up the computer!

Well, with the name Louise, I hope your a woman! I did say "guys" in my post! I can understand how women would like to see him. Guys thinking about him in a thong, just dosen't work for me!

Thanks for the link Lilly. Never heard "rubbah slippah" before. Of course, they're standard issue in most tropical places I've been, so I'm not sure how "unique" they are to Hawaii. But I guess they're speaking more to residents of the other 49 states.

Another variation was the tatami mat slippah with the padded velveteen black straps. Very comfy.
