I have actually seen it down a few times in photos posted here and I've seen it up and attached to a silver/grey tarp as well, covering more of the balcony. In a few pics above the tarps, it looks like the gutters are torn down or damaged, so maybe she is deflecting some of the roof run off. Pahonu has a good point too.

"The old tarp looks so very tacky and hanging there all these years is yet another indication that there can be no pride of home ownership." Now this is very unfair and quite myopic. (And, ethnocentric) I have worked with many large estate owners thru the decades and the ways and means of running an estate, and deflecting the various and sundry daily beatings our Hawai'i weather and climate inflicts on old architecture cannot be assumed, belittled, nor taken lightly, nor assumed as easy. Nor the motives or intent of estate owners in their aforementioned various ways and means of running their respective estates... uh... where was I.

good job by Mister Ed Asner on tonites H50! Most salient is the fact the latest turn of August March has him, in the current ep, the king of Diamond Smuggling on O'ahu, (not IN... Oahu), when in fact he was, back then, involved in Asian antiquties smuggling. NO mention of diamonds in the original ep.

They did a good job in connecting the original show with the reboot. August being in jail for 30 yrs........the comment he makes to Steve about a young Steve M. who wouldn't take a bribe..... the old clips they added of Ed Asner (August) in the original and the last scene where August makes a comment about never turning your back on the buyer (a line he used in the original show) and then shooting the lady). I'm hoping we see more of August in April or May!!!

I was going to say more of August in March, but decided on April and May.....corny I know, but still a tiny bit funny. Maybe August has a female sidekick named June, April or even May that will appear in a future episode. I'll stop digging the hole now!

I didn't know he was in rehab, that explains why he wasn't in the last episode. Hope he gets better soon.

Any thoughts re this past weeks cross over episode? Thought the Hawaii 5 0 episode was good, but didnt care for the NCIS LA segment. Apart from the two main male characters, I didnt think the supporting actors on NCIS LA were as good as the Hawaii 5 0 team.

I liked the premise of the cross over, but the characters from NCIS LA not so much. This week Steve and Wo Fat are back....should be a good episode!
