Would you be friends with Thomas Magnum?

An interesting question that I asked myself back in the '80's during the shows initial run. At that time, my answer would have been no. But over time, I think I have mellowed in my assessment of other people and their behaviours. If it was here & now, I would probably be friends with TSM. But honestly, if it was the '80's, it would have been no. I would not have put up with him and his quirks.

Magnum is just one of those guys that is hard not to like.

Heck yeah, of course I'd be friends with TM. Hang out at Robin's nest, help him with cases, Hang out at the King Kamehameha Club, and just being in Hawaii in the 80's would be sweet brah. The positives outweigh the negatives.

I say YES! I'm very loyal to my friends. I am somewhat childish sometimes with the jokes I do..love a good laugh. Love drinking beer...and Magnum's diet on the show....works for me....lol Plus a 45 automatic has always been my favorite weapon.

I'd definitely would have liked him as a friend. He was a good person with a good heart, and was fun to be around.

Having said that, I think it would have been much better to BE him than his friends ie. TC & Rick still having day to day jobs that require full time attention, intermixed with the fun/adventure of TM's life.

Would be much more easy/fun to be his friend if you had plenty of free time and cash to do as you please as well on Oahu in the '80's.

TM can get on nerves sometimes but he's a very cool guy.
I think ConchRepublican's point of view is very interesting, the "why" is very important, so my answer would be "probably" but since it's not an option, I will go for "Maybe".
