I really hope it's not true. Although IMDB isn't the most up to date source for information. They haven't yet listed Kwan Hi Lim as deceased. I love the commercials, and as someone else pointed out, he reminds me a lot of Robin Masters.

I was trying to be funny when I said that McCartney said it was faked but perhaps we need to play those commercials backwards and look for clues....................LOL

Maybe it is true...I've tried looking up the death of Jonathan Goldsmith and some sites do say he died--of prostrate cancer.

I've always found IMDB to be fairly accurate and up-to-date before...but I'm sure they aren't totally accurate about everything. I've never heard about Kwan Hi Lim dying!! I've tried looking that up too--found a couple little "blips" saying he died back in 2008...but nothing definite or from a major entertainment source.

Nobody lasts forever. I really wish they'd do a "Magnum" reunion movie before any more of the cast gets any older or passes away! I've always been worried that John Hillerman will die before one is made. :?

Not sure what to think now. I found his Facebook page and posted the question. Many others had too. I got a reply today stating "This is the official Jonothan Goldsmith page, posting on his behalf. Rest assured he has NOT passed away."

This is just ripe for parody on a batch of new commercials............

Definitely...if he really has not passed away, then they could really work this "false" death thing into new Dos Equis commercials!! It would be hilarious!!

I'm really going to have to go get some Dos Equis soon...it's been a few years since I've had one.

Is Kwan Hi Lim really dead too? I had a hard time finding things about his death...a few small statements back in 2008 when he supposedly passed away. :?: :(

If I'm right...the regular or normal recurring "Magnum" cast that have since passed are: Orson Welles (Voice of Robin Masters at first) in 1985, Elisha Cook, Jr. (Ice Pick) in 1995, Gwen Verdon (Katherine Magnum-Peterson) in 2000, Gillian Dobb (Agatha Chumley) in 2001, and Kwan Hi Lim (Lt. Yoshi Tanaka) in 2008.

LOL! Yes, of course. Now, the question still is...did "death's bed" really go away in real life?
