Thanks Styles.
I think you are right.

My advice for getting a tour of Robin's Nest: bring fido. :) :)

"Love Thy Neighbor, Take His Wife" from Five-O's eighth season features a brief scene at the Estate beginning at the 42 minute mark. What's more, David Huddleston is the villain in this episode! I don't know the layout like everyone else here does, but there's an attempt to make the Estate look as if it's adjacent to another house. There's also a brief bit where Huddleston's daughter is walking up from their swimming pool and the tidepool can be seen behind her.

The Pug is the key to the sacred grounds of Pahonu! If you had time, you could train the Pug to run towards the main house on some secret command. You say out loud to your fellow Pug Lovers, "Oh Dear, Higgins has run away! Excuse me, I'll be right back.", and you run after him. You'd then have the perfect opportunity to check out the house up close. You could even get a chance to explore the rarely seen back (south) side of the main house. The Pug is the key! :)
Shouldn't they call those meetings "The Anglo-Hawaiian Pug Lovers Association" or something along those lines?

Thanks for the head up about Love Thy Neighbor, Take His Wife. Looks like I'll be getting that too. :)

There we go, one of my employees had a Pug a few years ago and I seem to recall him telling me that Pugs have some type of genetic deficiancy wherein they have problems with eye infections among other problems due in part to the wrinkles on their faces. Perhaps we can get a group of us together, write The Dowager Lady Anderson that we would like to hold a charity bingo match under the monicker "The Anglo-American Pug Lovers Association" to raise funds for Pug research. Of course she would graciously hold it on The Estate and we could finally get on the hallowed grounds................LOL!

Or the fact that their eyes creepily bug out may have something to do with it... LOL

James, you figured out how to load the picture. Some hikers posted it from atop the Ko'olau Mountains above the estate. Interesting point of view. Until I found this, I had never seen it from this angle. You can really get the feeling for how the mountains loom above the estate. Stunning location!

James, I was just looking at the pictures of the estate filmed before Magnum on the Robins Nest page. Have you ever considered putting some images of the actual interiors on a page like that? Perhaps side by side with the sets used on Magnum would be interesting. I know there are several actual interior photos in this thread. Just an idea I thought fans might be interested in seeing.

That's a great idea Pahonu. I have a page for exterior shots of the estate, so an interior one would fit nicely. I'll get to it eventually. :)
The Dowager Lady Anderson
Did Eve Anderson inherit the estate property from a deceased husband??

Thanks! I just thought fans might be interested in seeing some actual interior shots of the estate. They are scattered about throughout the forum, but a single page might make it simpler.

I don't know if Eve Anderson was ever married. In his blog, Rick Romer stated she inherited it from her grandparents who used to "winter" there. He also stated they had to arrive on that side of the island by boat because the Kalanianaole Highway didn't go there in the 30's. That would explain the dock seen in older Hawaii Five-O episodes.

I think others, perhaps, have used the term "dowager" with a negative connotation to describe her reclusiveness, rather than using it literally.

No, everything's tagged correct. The guest House (boat house) is in its correct location, and the gate house is near by the main (and only) gate.

Neat thread,

I was going to accuse all of you of not having enough to do with your lives but since I just spent half the day reading all 39 pages of this thread I best keep those thoughts to myself.

I am not even really a big fan of Magnum (H5O is my favorite TV show) in particular but I love problem solving and that is what this thread is.

In its own small way it shows the real power of the net, people from all over the world each bringing their own personal knowledge to bear on a common challenge, neat!

By the way that website that estimates home values now shows the property at $7M, I guess the recession in Hawaii anyway, is over. But bear in mind that the site does not consider condition, probably just location, lot size and building footage.

It would cost millions to restore a spread like that!
