The one LEGO set I wish I got as a kid....

#1 Post by BobBlusoe »

I was looking at some files and I found this image I made a while back for the BZPower forums (a forum about the LEGO BIONICLE series,)(I sometimes go as Darthkopaka over there) and I thought it would make sense to post it here.

Image

Yes, there are a lot of errors: hat color, shirt length, mustache type, etc. Now, If they really made a LEGO Magnum PI, they'd prolly make a T-shirt for the mini-fig, and they'd give him a mustache that really looked like his. But they will never make a LEGO Magnum PI because not a lot of young kids even know about it :( ah well. A guy can dream, right?

All that's missing is the ROBIN'S NEST Playset tm, and T.C.'s helicopter!
I just don't give a damn!

Don't forget the bulldozer that attacks magnum in season 5, and the absolutely non-canon playset where Magnum drinks a Bordeaux with a Macho Taco!

When I was a kid, I used to mix up all my legos and create whatever I wanted.

What's needed here is a lego STAR TREK ENTERPRISE Bridge playset, and you can sit the Magnum figure in the captain's chair! It would be a lo-tech version of what DERVISH did on the STAR TREK: ONLINE game. (see the MAGNUM-STAR TREK post)
I just don't give a damn!

That would be awesome! In STAR TREK II (New one, not wrath of khan) they better get Tom Selleck to play something! Or at least have him be the new computer voice! can you imagine that?

KIRK: Computer, please enlarge view screen!
MAGNUM COMPUTER: Sure thing!
SPOCK: The Romulans are charging weapons, Captain! What do we do?
KIRK: We charge in there, Mr. Spock!
MAGNUM: Yeah, that's a hot one, you turkey!

I agree with you to the hilt! Selleck should be an officer or an Admiral. Hillerman could come out of mothballs to do the Computer voice! It's got to be Higgins's British lilt though!

Yeah Hillerman could do an astonishing performance and everyone would be like "whos that" and magnum fans would just shout at the top of our lungs "ALL HAIL HIGGY-BABY!" and then the other people would just be like "that guy from the macademia nut commercial?"

I will prepare my Apollo-Justice-trademarked-voice-chords-of-steel!

Yeah, and on the new MAGNUM P.I. movie, Cheech and Chong could make a guest appearance along with Magnum's friend "Hot Rod" (see "By It's Cover" season 3)

right now in my countdown-to-season -8 marathon I'm on "Foiled Again" but I will look for TM's friend when I watch that episode.

Tom Seleck would probably have to lose a little weight though. I saw him in Boston Legal the other day and he looked ok but on Vegas he looked more like Rip Torn than Magnum. I don't even know what Larry and Roger look like now.

wuchu talkin bout willis? Selleck looks great for his age. Larry looks about the same with a few wrinkles. As for Mosley, I saw him last year on the TV awards and he looked lik he was training for a boxing match with a Mr.Clean hairstyle to boot!

really? wow go roger! maybe he can finally get those Mr. Clean Magic erasers to actually work! (tried them, weren't that great)

As for TS, I saw vegas before Magnum, so I don't remember how he looked, and I haven't seen any Jesse Stone yet. but for some reason I remember thinking "that guy looks like Rip Torn!" idk though like I said I was watching Boston Legal and he looked good there so maybe it was just that I hadn't seen him before. Then Vegas got cancelled so I didn't see him again until Magnum.

Well I am in the process of building Magnum's Ferrari out of legos. I'll post pics when done.
