They should be if they make their coffee unnecessarily hot (like scalding hot) and they knew it was causing serious injuries, yet did nothing to change it! Most people think the "McDonald's Coffee Lawsuit" (Liebeck v. McDonald's Restaurants) was an extreme example of a frivolous lawsuit, but, in fact, it was not.Agatha wrote:And "McDonald's can not be responsible if you spill hot coffee in your lap."

I remember drinking their coffee before they lowered the temperature. It was way, way too hot.

No worries Agatha. The case was never accurately portrayed in the press. Some people like to spread the word on Lemmings (they don't commit "suicide" by jumping off a cliff). Some people like to spread the word about our brains (we use more than 10% of it). I like to spread the word the "McDonald's Coffee Lawsuit".
