Re: Mixed Doubles (3.10)
Tennis, anyone?
I must admit that as a tennis guy, I have a soft spot for this episode (and the technique does not bother me that much).
One interesting tennis related tidbit: actor Nels Van Patten (playing tennis player Kenny Phelps, with whom Carrie Riordan quarreled) was, in reality, a serious tennis player, attaining a ranking of 803 in the world -- nothing to scoff at; if I was the 803rd ranked lawyer in the world, I'd be pretty pleased with myself. Here's his ATP (men's professional tour) profile: https://www.atptour.com/en/players/nels ... 7/overview
Nels' brother, Vincent, was an even more accomplished tennis player. In 1979 he was voted as top newcomer of the year on the ATP tour. He registered victories over some top ten players in his career, including John McEnroe. He dated Farrah Fawcett. Nice resume.
If their surname sounds familiar, they are the son of actor (and tennis fan and renowned gambler) Dick Van Patten, of Eight is Enough fame.
Aloha!
