I don't recall if this has been reported but today I found what I believe to be the ship painting from HFO used in MPI.OOPS..Just remembered it was also used in a Luther Gillis episode.
It appears to be a clipper so it could be the Cutty Sark or Thermopylae, amongst many others. These two were the fastest and often the subject of paintings. I think Thermopylae still holds the sailing record from England to Australia. Without better resolution, ID is nearly impossible.
What we do know is that the ship painting from HFO appeared in MPI in a Luther Gillis episode. In my second photo, the lower photo was taken from a HFO photo.
Here is the photo from Luther Gillis and Ricks comment ID it as HFO,also a link about the ship.
Cool information Sam! I never noticed it was two ships either. These two clippers were part of the tea trade like the Cutty Sark and Thermopylae but built a little earlier and thus a little slower. Most of them ended up in the wool trade with Australia before being scuttled. Nearly all of these great ships are gone today. Perhaps two or three remain. The Cutty Sark caught fire several years ago in London and is being rebuilt as a museum.

Hi, Pahonu!
By "ID", I meant in regards to the artist and/or painting name. But the subject matter is important, too!
I understand JJ. Sam nailed it. The last days under sail are a fascination for many. This painting/print clearly qualifies.
Did you get my last e-mail? Sorry I haven't done much to the Sketchup model, but adding the vegitation increases the model size greatly (and is boring), slowing down my computer. I'll get back to it eventually. I wouldn't mind if you added it to the links page now. The structure is essentially done. It's just the incredible amount of vegitation that is provong a vexation.
