That was the first time Robin's Nest was shown. But not to worry - it will be shown many, many more times to come. In fact just 3 or 4 episodes later. And in a season 10 episode Higgins himself will be living there! Yep, John Hillerman guest stars in that one.

Re: Hawaii Five-O: Any Fans?
Nice! My 2 favorites from season 2 are "A Bullet for McGarrett" and "The Singapore File" - both of which I assume you already saw. Maybe you recognized the Byodo-In Temple at the end of "Singapore File" (which was supposed to be a stand-in for the Philippines) which is where Tozan (Mako) had his precious vase stolen in "The Arrow that is Not Aimed".
Also I hope you appreciated some nice shots (including helicopter shots) of Robin's Nest in "Sweet Terror".

The Singapore File was excellent.
I visited the Byodo-In a few years ago. Always love seeing it.
Always cool spotting Robin's Nest.
I was going to comment more on individual episodes but watched too many while the site was down.
Aloha

Yep, both times I was on Oahu I just had to visit the Byodo-In Temple. Amazing place!
Do go ahead and provide us a play-by-play as you watch these episodes.
And as Jack Lord would say in his previews for the next episode.... "Be here, aloha!"

Enjoyed the episode a lot.
Even episodes that are not that complex a storyline they make into very enjoyable shows.

Re: Hawaii Five-O: Any Fans?
I especially like the creepy opening of "The Devil and Mr. Frog" where the boy is held captive in the shack and these spooky masked characters are lurking about. But there's a 3rd season episode called "The Ransom" where again a little boy (played by the same boy actor!!) is kidnapped and held for ransom in a shack out in the middle of nowhere. And again the boy's father is a much older man. That one is a MUCH better episode in my opinion - very suspenseful!

Looking forward to "The Ransom".

Yep that's James Hong - that particular pic was from the earlier episode "A Thousand Pardons - You're Dead!" where he met a rather nasty end outside of the Diamond Head Tunnel entrance. I do remember seeing him in "Forty" I think on MPI.T.Q. wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 6:08 pm"The Devil and Mr. Frog" Magnum link:IvanTheTerrible wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 11:36 pm I especially like the creepy opening of "The Devil and Mr. Frog" where the boy is held captive in the shack and these spooky masked characters are lurking about. Blind Tiger -Excellent
Kinda Magnumesque.
Really start to see McGarrett's character evolve.
Loved it.
Run, Johnny, Run - Also really enjoyed.
Bit predictable (ie you kinda knew Christopher Walken was the shooter) but loved the old school problem solving with the bullet angles and McGarrett's relationship with the locals.
Enjoying Season 2.

Yes, "Blind Tiger" is one of my favorites of the second season. Great episode! Plus you get to see Marion Ross pre-Happy Days as Nurse Edith Lavallo, who puts in a very good performance. There's an interesting "relationship" that develops between her and McGarrett. By the end of the episode you can see that she has fallen for him, but can't bring herself to do anything about it. Just curious - in what way did you think the episode was Magnumesque?T.Q. wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 2:57 pm Blind Tiger -Excellent

"Run, Johnny, Run" was also very good. Notable for a very early Christopher Walken performance, who of course is gonna be the the bad guy and of course is very good! The bullet angles and trajectories is just the kind of old-school crime solving stuff that I love Five-O for. Did you spot future sportscaster Al Michaels in a small role as John Mala's lawyer? Michaels was just getting started in broadcasting and was working/living in Hawaii at that time.
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Was a bit reminiscent of Magnum injury episodes and episodes where his layers are peeled back. Our tough hero revealed as human and vulnerable at times.
Didn’t notice Al Michaels. Cool.
Watched Killer Bee today. Liked it. Again, the Nam flashbacks and storylines remind me of....

Re: Hawaii Five-O: Any Fans?
"Killer Bee" is a great one! Definitely in my top 5 for season 2. For whatever reason it's not rated very highly among Five-O fans. Some complain about the "psychological mumbo-jumbo" and that it doesn't make any sense. But for me I find the storyline very riveting and even disturbing, especially in those scenes where George is driving poor Ted over the edge. Really gets to you!! Creepy stuff.
Carry on....

Re: Hawaii Five-O: Any Fans?
'The One with the Gun' and 'Most Likely to Murder' on Monday.
Good episodes.
Like looking for actors.
Baltar - Battlestar Galactica
Fish (correction Sgt. Nick Yemana thanks to Ivan) - Barney Miller
And Tom Skerritt was so young.
