While Harrington’s time on H50 was relatively brief, I thought he was a welcome presence who could display a subtle wit. Ben even got a legitimately iconic character—and series—moment at the end of I’m a Family Crook—Don’t Shoot!

In addition to the aforementioned episode, Ben also gets that cool jumping-over-the-fence intro during the show’s opening credits (though to be fair, it’s slightly less great than McGarrett’s and Kono’s opening credits intros).

"The Case of the Red Faced Thespian" - my least favorite of the 4, too silly for my well-honed tastes

I said ‘So what do you think of DeSantis’ and he hummed and hawed and said ‘he’s okay’.

I said ‘Well I like him even though our progressive friends hate him’.

To which he lit up and replied ‘I actually think he’s great’.

Turns out he is part of a young Republicans group and campaigned for Ron.

Guess he was afraid to say anything since politics is so toxic.

Enjoying our time. Saw Hall & Oates last night.

Good solid episode with some twisty espionage thrown into the mix. Liked the inclusion of Mi6 in the story, with fine British actors on hand - Dan O'Herlihy, Murray Matheson, Juliet Mills (sister of child star Hayley Mills). Dan O'Herlihy is best remembered by modern audience as the old CEO in ROBOCOP. His brother Michael O'Herlihy directed this episode, as well as countless others! He directed more episodes of the show than anyone else. Again we're treated to a chase down the Ala Wai Canal and under the McCully St. overpass. Great stuff! Loved the very matter-of-fact way that O'Herlihy executes Matheson at the end. He's looking over some document that the latter hands over to him and just shoots him with a silencer all while inspecting the document. That's cold, bruddah!

I recall O'Herlihy mentions that he's staying at the Halekulani. Was that ever used as the KKC on MPI?

Bit slow moving. Pretty standard plot but good.

Cool seeing Susan Dey (hubba hubba) and Marc Singer.

Their scenes together were very well done.

I liked the hitman too.

Out of character for McGarrett to call hitmen dumb though. I think he 'respects' them.

All-in-all I liked it.

Yep, it's a good "kill the witness" type of episode. No classic, but pretty good. We've been down this road before though. I think what bogs it down a bit is the subplot with Susan Dey and Marc Singer and whatever attraction seems to be developing between those two. I know most seem to like that aspect of the story but I remember not caring for it and finding it a distraction. It just drags for me during those scenes. The episode just lacks the punch of something like "Secret Witness" from 2 seasons earlier. But I agree that Andrew Prine as the hitman was cool! There's a great scene where he looks bored (he's being chastised by his boss I think) and he just lets out this huge yawn! Too funny!

Was Prine’s character, Wally Hatch, just another in a long line of eccentric assassins, or was he the first “postmodern” hitman? He’d be right at home in a Tarantino film!
