Interesting. I’ve never seen that rendering before. It’s nice, but too cartoonish to display anywhere.

Did you explore the rest of the page? There's a ton of stuff but nothing I would be interested in buying.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that picture you posted is a copy somewhat copy of the one you posted that's on the homepage.

I didn’t notice there was more. I’ll have to explore more tomorrow.

Re: Robins Nest "Stuff"
This image was posted on the forum several years ago, if I recall correctly. I would also add that it’s quite inaccurate in many ways. Not to say that it’s not a pretty image, but having made an accurate architectural model, it’s just not a very accurate depiction of Pahonu.
Re: Robins Nest "Stuff"
Hey P... I think it's pretty much a copy of a photo posted on the homepage minus the palm trees and Higgins and the lads

Re: Robins Nest "Stuff"
It’s definitely that same angle, but:
The roofline is too steep everywhere
The chimney placement is off
Two of the three porches have the wrong number of bays
The upstairs lanai is missing doors and windows
The roof was originally black tile not brown
The courtyard wall is the wrong color
The first floor windows at the driveway are wrong
I would just say that too someone looking at it with an architectural eye, it has a lot of mistakes.

I'm not sure but line up rabbit Island with the rooftop. Look at the shadows on the second floor right side window.
Zoom in on the gate in the courtyard it's nuts on.
I think it's just a copy.

Hi Styles... The photo on the homepage..
The second photo on the homepage I was saying I thought that photo was one that you originally posted.
Pahonu (aka Robin's Nest) torn down!

I believe he’s referring to this one.

I don’t doubt that’s the photo that inspired the artwork, but it’s not just a manipulated photo. Look at the single story ell. There are five bays in the lanai of the photo (barely visible) and clearly six in the drawing/painting. That’s just one example.
They removed much of the foliage all around and made the opposite mistake at the drive. The porch there has three bays and the artwork shows two.

I think Sam's right. The vantage point is very similar. Probably inspired the piece of art with other photos used to fill in the blanks - plus artist's license to fudge here and there. My mom's an artist. They often change reality to suit their needs!

I think the vantage point of the camera gives it away as inspiration. It must have been taken from one of those cranes they use on a film set, no? Where else would you get that perspective?
