King Kamehameha Club K.K.C.

#1 Post by KENJI »

I wonder if there will be a K.K.C..
There has to be if Mr. Lenkov is a true fan!
It might be too soon being just the pilot, but I bet they are thinking about it.
Any ideas where it will be located? I guess they could go with the original spots, but I'm guessing they will want a fresh location. Time will tell....(assuming it gets picked up)

Hey KENJI,

I mentioned in the "I Saw the Sun Rise Pilot" thread that there's a hint that there will be a club... I'm guessing Lenkov will still call it the K.K.C. This is from one of the auditions...

Rick and Magnum have a scene where they're attacked by the bad guys while they're at the sunken gold site. Rick asks Magnum if there's "enough gold down there to buy The Club a new boat"!

As far as location, I haven't seen anything but I'll keep an eye out. :luther: They may want a location/look that will appeal to the new viewers Lenkov is shooting for.

I hope they use the original Waialae Beach Park pavilion for the KKC Beach Bar! It was by far the most common filming location for the King Kam scenes! It's still there.

For the main building of the KKC, I'm not sure what the status is of the Marks Estate (formerly The Clarence H. Cooke House) these days. Anybody know? If they wanted to go "old school" they could try to use the Outrigger Canoe Club or the Elks Honolulu Lodge. :)

The fact that there will be a club already confirmed the description of the Rick, when it was revealed that Zachary Knighton will play him:

A former door gunner with the Marines, Rick (Knighton) now runs Oahu’s coolest nightclub. According to Magnum, Rick is well connected – if you want something on the island, Rick is the man to see. He is one of Magnum’s friends who were all POWs in Iraq together. In the original series, the role was played by Larry Manetti.

Hi RG,

Yeah, I'm thinking they are referring to a nightclub as well, but thanks for bringing it up. :D

I'm with James on the original locations....would love to see the WBP and Mark's Estate again!

Here is an old article on the Mark's Estate that mentions the new owners, renovations hopefully complete by early 2018 (perfect timing) and an open mind on what to do with it......sounds like there is a chance we might see it again! I'm sure Lenkov's crew have already contacted them.

Thanks KENJI & Core 4,

I'm familiar with the nightclub for the reboot, but my thoughts are why would a nightclub have a boat?...

In an audition video Rick and Magnum have a scene where they're attacked by the bad guys while they're at the sunken gold site. Rick asks Magnum if there's enough gold down there to buy The Club a new boat.

So to me this is an indication that there will be at least a day/beach K.K.C. and as J.J. said, hopefully at Waialae Beach Park. I'm sure they'll want to again incorporate eye candy in the background, right?

That's a fair point RG.....the original KKC did have a boat/yacht!
and later on in the series Rick managed the KKC. Also, he was always the one taking the boat out with KKC members, guests, his girlfriends and of course Thomas. I'm thinking it's early on in the reboot and they hinted Rick now runs the coolest nightclub which Rick did in the original......maybe later (assuming there is a later) Rick becomes the manager at the KKC. The nightclub might offer sunset cruises (mai tais, dancing etc) which is a stretch....maybe the club is on a boat (another stretch). I don't know of any nightclub that has a boat, but supposedly Rick's club is really cool 8) so we can't rule out a boat, plus we don't even know if they get this gold to buy the boat.  That creates another question.....What will the name of the nightclub be Rick's Café Americain aka The Snow Palace or something else? I guess we will have to just wait and see how everything falls in place. :)

Yep, that was my point.

By the way it may be too early but we'll probably need a "Theme Song" thread.

They seem to have a huge budget for Ferrari, house, and now yacht rentals, I wish they could have used some of it for rehabbing The Estate..........

Here is another site....

http://www.elyatt.com/
I was looking over the pics from both sites when I noticed a pillow on the first site that had Elyatt on it, making both yachts the same yacht (unless they have a Elyatt l and Elyatt ll.....) too funny. Maybe these other companies get a commission for finding business or they are part of the same company which makes sense.

Just found another.........
