Hawaii 5-0/Blue Bloods crossover episode
How cool (and easy for CBS) would that be? In the first hour Frank Reagan is in Honolulu on vacation, or maybe attending a Police Commissioners' convention. Throw in some Magnum in-jokes, like Frank buying a red jungle bird shirt in a gift shop and getting razzed about looking like he just stepped out of the 80s. Maybe have his rental car complimentarily upgraded to a Ferrari 308 GTS (okay, that might be a little much
). Then Frank ends up witnessing or somehow being caught up in a crime, and it turns out the crime has some connection to NYC, so he assists McGarrett, Danno, Chin-Ho, et al in the investigation. Then in the second hour Danny and McGarrett travel to NYC to pursue the investigation there. Danno is back in his home territory, no longer the fish-out-of-water, and gets to razz McGarrett about his lack of familiarity with NYC for a change. Then a lot of fun could be had with Danno/Danny (Danny Reagan, Donnie Walberg's character), and McGarrett, Danno and Danny, all being hotheaded sometimes loose cannon cops butting heads.

My essay "In Country: Place and Historical Connection in Magnum PI", about the importance of the Honolulu/Vietnam connection in the show:

Love the idea, I think it has even been mentioned on the H-50 (new version) IMDB board a few times.........Reef monkey wrote:How cool (and easy for CBS) would that be?
