Growing up on the west coast of Ireland we called the "A shirt" or athletic type undershirt a vest or singlet. One language dividing many countries.

Hi Fr. Paddy,

Remember as kids we were not allowed shed the (winter) vest until the end of May regardless of weather conditions. In case we caught a cold !

Ha! I forgot all about that. My grandmother would go mad if we left the house with wet hair after a bath, "You'll get a cold" she could be heard screaming as you closed the door. Never mind that my hair was wet from the rain almost every day when I came home.

I thought some folks might get a kick out of a couple links that show what is called shutzhund dog sport, a dog training regime that includes practice in obedience, protection and tracking. My wife and I got involved with this several years ago with our German shepherds. I even get to dress up in the bite suit and work the dogs with my bite sleeve. Very fun and really helps promote good, stable dogs. I can definitely imagine Higgins working through this kind of training with the lads Zeus and Apollo. Can just imagine Higgins dressing Thomas up in the bite outfit and chasing Thomas all over the grounds. One video shows a doberman working with obedience and protection. The other video shows some dogs at a recent shutzhund competition with some commentary to help describe what is going on. Hope fans of the lads find these links kinda fun.

In the picture Rick was wearing a tank top and shorts. It definately wasn't a singlet.
