Welcome rockinrick1. Any relation to rocknrobbie?

I have no idea where Big Al's is/was, but I'd guess it was a local, (to Ouahu), shop, or completely fabricated for the series. Seems as though I do remember somebody saying in an old thread that it may have been a local shop on the island, but I can't point you to it.

Member "only looking" offered them some time ago, but after my own inquiry to him, is not at present, (to my knowledge anyway), making them. :magnum:

Thanks for the update. No relation to rocknrobbie. I have always love the show and am from Hawaii so can relate to all the episodes. I live in California now but hoping to move back home in a couple of years.

Regarding the cap, hopefully someone will make a replica of it for purchase.

Hi rockinrick1,

Welcome to the forum.Try contacting "only looking" he was selling them a few years ago.

The "Al's Automotive and Muffler King" cap was actually a holdover from the 1979 Tom Selleck/James Whitemore Jr. pilot movie The Chinese Typewriter.

Thanks. It looks like 'only looking' is out of business. I'm sure someone will do a replica of the cap in the near future. Thanks for your help.
