"ask some big scary looking Hawaiian dudes where he can find the Kahuna. As the big guys get closer, Magnum chimes in with a "Howzit?" " a dicotomy if there ever was one. Mag breaking out local phrases to only appear even more cluelessly FOB, They could have written in more localisms to appear as if Mag performed his due diligence required of any and all P.I's. Ingratiate yourself with da locals. get to know them and lose the mainland veneer. Mag did not. But if the producers and writers HAD.. they woulda maybe alienated 99 percent of the audience who have no clue about local stuffs. EVEN tho' that is the way it is done here. IF you wanna be a successful PI. But, It IS fantasy. Not reality. As they say; It is only a teevee show!

Pidgin english
If you want to talk about pidgin english, start your own post about it. Ask other members which episodes had it in it. It's like a contest, they have to search their memory and episodes to find the answers! That's what I was trying to do with the food; what he ate most, how Magnum liked it fixed, etc. That's why I try and stay on topic in a post. Good Luck, Aloha(and my real first name is Thomas)
