Magnum team ring

#1 Post by MagnumILWU »

I have a ring I got in the early 1990's! I got it from an ad in the 'National Enquirer'. The ad featured Larry Manetti, selling exact copies of the ring, for about $20-30. It's a nice heavy, gold colored ring, and came in a clear case. Did anyone else buy this ring? Aloha

I'd love to see a copy of the original ad. Anyone?

Never had heard of that before, would love to see the ad or the ring. Maybe Robbie from RockNrobbi is around he can shed more light on this matter.

Thanks Brian! For quick reference (since the images are a bit buried on Robbie's page), here they are.

The advertisement (details are difficult to make out).

The ring Larry was selling (Robbie added the baked enamel).

The pendant Larry was selling in the ad.

for the value and history and considering it came from Larry I would have bought one back in the day for that price if I had of seen the add. Looks pretty good. THanks for posting.

My Magnum ring!

The ring Larry was selling does not look like the photo here! It is very well made, and came with the black enamel! I e-mailed a photo to jjwalters, maybe he can post it. The photo I took also shows the nice ring case it came in!

That's interesting. Maybe Robbie's collection is so vast, he's mislabelled his photos!

My team ring

I finally posted a photo of the ring, under a new post,'My Ring'. Later i realized I just should have posted it here! I do believe it looks better than any photo I've seen yet!

Very nice. I'm a silver guy, but if I went for gold I'd like something like that.

Someone on the forum had a jeweller make one from scratch a few years back and it looked amazing. I'm fairly certain it was someone in Australia. Can't remember who though - there are quite a few Aussies here.

Gold or silver?

#12 Post by MagnumILWU »

On the show, Magnum's ring was gold. Did anyone on the team have a silver ring, or were they all gold?
