This is an interesting story. This guy was an extra on 6 MPI episodes and joined HPD in 1989.

In 1994,while on duty with a routine traffic stop,he was shot 8 times by an AK-47.

Here is his youtube video of the story.

What an interesting career he's had - Navy, radio, TV, law enforcement!

From his website, it appears that he was in "The Hotel Dick" and "The Treasure of Kalaniopu'u"(?), among others. The second one is hard to tell.
Higgins: It's not a scratch! It's a bloody gouge!

Hi James,

Yeah,I thought it was a good story and I guess I've known about it for a year or so.I was reminded of it last week when I caught the last 5 minutes of the" DOG".He was hauling the bad guys kid off to the hoosegow.I guess there is some truth in the old saw.."The coconut doesn't fall far from the tree"

If you watch the video, you see longtime Honolulu news anchor Joe Moore. He was in 6 episodes of MPI..Last seen as the minister in the final show.

I emailed Stan to let him know about the forum..Maybe he has a story or two about his experiences that he could share. If not,I think we could help him with the screencaps.

James, did you miss it? He also appeared in your all time TV favorite....TJ Hooker.

Anyone catch the name of the news anchor? Dan Cooke.
"But Higgins, I can explain."
