Does anyone remember ever seeing this scene?

For all non-episode specific topics about the show, including MPI-related "tie-ins"

Great clip. I remember seeing it sometime just before Season Eight started.

Thanks.

Does this mean that Magnum really did die in "Limbo," and the scenes with him in the coma were only added after the original broadcast?

Yup, TM died in the original broadcast of "Limbo"! Fans went berserk! (I remember my girlfriend and I were literally hurling things at the TV!) It was pandemonium! When they decided to come back for an eighth season, they shot some additional footage (namely the coma scenes) to imply that our hero might not have died. The promo clip was also part of the "we-need-to-change-things-quickly" campaign. I'm pretty sure there was one other promo clip, as well.

I guess that's why in the reruns of Limbo, everyone is simultaneously at Robin's Nest grieving over Magnum's death, and at the hospital waiting for him to come out of his coma.

I hope the DVD of season 7 has the original "Limbo," and season 8 has the altered version.

Yeah, I hope so, too! I can't wait to see this episode again!

Truthfully, I don't remember which exact scenes were added/altered. It's been so long since I've seen this episode. I saw the original broadcast, then one syndication airing in the early 90s. All I know for sure is they added more coma scenes and they altered a few things in the warehouse scene.

I thought Selleck changed his mind before the show aired, and that any changes were added ahead of time? It's been a while since I've seen it, although I did watch the original broadcast. I just remember Magnum's death being implied (ie. his walking off into the clouds), rather than explicitedly stated.

The hospital/coma scenes were added affer it first aired.
