Rubber chicken question...

Hey, new forum member here. Off topic.. but awesome site. As I'm reading through the site, amazing how much you folks have absorbed and remembered!

Not to seem lazy, I searched for an hour or so, typed in rubber chicken in the forum search, but it brings up about 160+ posts where the term was used, so this seems faster.

Can someone tell me if there is any "symbolism" behind the rubber chicken? I saw TM and the gorilla mask referred to when he visits his mother and stepfather.. but I didn't recall seeing the origin of the chicken. Of course it was in a pile of episodes, and I saw the funny screenshot of it in the gorilla's mouth. My thing was, other than a childhood toy, was there a specific reference as to why he's got one floating around? My wife actually bought one for me the other day lol

I believe other than just childhood stuff and pratical jokes stuff...dont believe it's ever been addressed as a certain reason. Although later it became more so associated with LILY as her doll. Which is prett sweet.

I remember Lily snuggling up with it.. but I totally don't remember seeing Higgins decapitate it..lol

It happened in the peisode "Paper War"..really good episode, very funny.

Higgins decapitating it was hilarious as was Magnum demolishing the Bridge Over the River Kwai model.

LOL! I remember the chicken with the tape around it's neck.

Have to go back and watch Paper Wars this weekend!

BTW, wasn't the head in the bed ala Godftaher style (horse head)?

There was another movie reference: The Bridge Over River Kwai. Magnum was whistling the theme song before he blew up Higgy's toy bridge!

You guys are sure right... that was one of the best scenes! Just was watching "Infinitity" this morning, finishing the last of season 7. Saw the tape still around the chickens neck as M's daughter is snuggling it... Love the continuity! Just like seeing the destroyed award Magnum received and taped together for this season...
