Remember Magnum appearing on 'The Fall Guy'?
I don't know what made me think of this today, but I was just remembering when Tom Selleck appeared in 'The Fall Guy'.
I was in Part 2 of the first season's 'License to Kill'. Colt and co. are in Hawaii, and in one scene they bump into Tom when he is filming an episode of Magnum!
I hadn't seen this particular episode until a couple of years ago, and it really made me laugh.
Anyone else remember it?

Great little cameo from Selleck. Wish they could have somehow worked in Bob Minor or Tom Lupo for the scene - the Fall Guy "fall guys" meet the Magnum P.I. "fall guys".

Yup, I remember it. I also recall Colt (Lee Majors) calling him "Tom", not Thomas.Jay-Firestorm wrote:I don't know what made me think of this today, but I was just remembering when Tom Selleck appeared in 'The Fall Guy'.

Boring episode until Tom Selleck appears! It was a hilarious 3 minutes. The funniest thing was, he acted just like Magnum, same mannerisms and expressions. I've heard that in person Tom Selleck tends to be more serious. It's possible that he grew up just as his character did over the 8 years the show ran. In a lot of ways, Selleck really IS Magnum. I don't have a problem with separating the man from the character. Tom Selleck is a great person and I respect who he is. However, it's obvious that he put a lot of energy into his role as TM, and that puts him in the same caliber as Shakespearian actors like Lawrence Olivier and Patrick Stewart.
Considering how many cameos there were in 80's TV shows, why didn't Cheech & Chong appear on MPI? They could have been on "The ugliest dog in Hawai'i" or "...By it's cover"! The possibilities would have been hilarious or odd!

I just found my old recording of this story. TS is the best thing in it.
Although I like most old shows of the era, I have to say (as much as I like it in it's), 'The Fall Guy' has definitely dated, and really pales against something like MPI. Some of the stories were terrible. Even so, it's a shame that all of those old action-adventure shows aren't made anymore.
