Thanks Steve,
That's closer to the figure I've seen.
What puzzles me,Mrs. Anderson's stepmother,Barbara Cox Anthony, died almost two years ago, leaving an estate valued at 12.6 billion.Either the old broad didn't toss her a bone or Mrs. Anderson is sitting on the dough. You'd think she would fix up the dump.

If I owned the estate I would turn the post house into a replica of the one seen on the show...I would decorate it as close as possible and even track down all the personal items seen or used on the show. Trust me the thing would be rented out ALL THE TIME. A couple did that with the Andy Griffith show's interiors and turned there house into a inn and the place is packed. It was amazing how close they got. THen there's the Christmas Story House from the movie "Christmas Story" and that's also HUGE. So there's a MAJOR market potential there. Buy some of the older vehicles a short stocky fellow that looked like Higgins to be the butler, maybe a couple of dobermans and a T.C. style Isalnd Hoppers chopper to pick you up at the estate for a island tour and wham-o..one hell of a stay.
It made me do it Higgins!!!

A group of like minded individuals who could find the necessary capital I really think a MPI Tour Co. could indeed be developed and a healthy profit made along w/ preserving a piece of great television history.

The guesthouse would, of course, be "restored", also. The gatehouse/caretaker's house (aka "Kengi's Pad") could be turned into the "Visitors Center" (two floors), with the complete history of the show, actor bios, signed pictures, free cigars, trivia contests, virtual shooting range and Ferrari driving simulators, "brawling 101", and some good wax figures. :)
Higgins: It's not a scratch! It's a bloody gouge!

I like the free cigars idea, but only if there is a voice of Higgins chastising you for taking one of his Canary Island cigars.

I still am wondering why Ms Anderson would let such a great piece of real estate AND television history deteriorate??? The "trailer park" curtains on the upstairs balcony is disapointing to see. But then again if I had her money I probably wouldn't be as concerned.

I don't know? Pride would make me refurbish the place. If that is where you are living don't you want it to looks as nice as possible? With that kind of money there is no excuse for having the place look like that.

I'd be inclined to give Ms. Anderson a break. Remember that our ideal image of the estate is from a time when TV companies cared for the grounds. There was quite a bit of money for upkeep, and likely crews of groundskeepers to aid in it. Ms. Anderson, while well off, certainly isn't rich by today's standards, and she is up there in years. It's a lot of work and expense for one person. I'm sure she can't afford to have a full staff of groundskeepers.

I agree with your assesment, but I do think the place could look much better than it does. I'm not expecting it to look like it did during filming, but it can stand to be improved some.

Perhaps Ms. A should open up the grounds to us, The Society for the Preservation and Upkeep of the Robin Masters Estate in the Sandwich Islands for a volunteer home makeover........

Lottery

#28 Post by Estate resident »

Attention >
The Mega-Millions lottery next drawing is now over 200 million. Plenty of cash to buy the estate and turn it into a MPI tourist destination. I've got my ticket. If I win everyone here is going on a hawaiian vacation for a few weeks.

^ Thats actually a pretty idea. You should contact Ms Anderson and tell her you have numerous volunteers who would work tirelessly for free to help restore Robin's Nest. It might work.
