And no offense to our Patchismo ad-man, but Tran Quoc Jones is horrible as well.

I did think Higgins was a bit out of character in this episode. While I could definitely see him taking a calm attitude about their predicament, even making the choice to enjoy it, this went further than that, almost a Pleasure Principle twist.

He's stranded on a deserted island, hence free from all of his usual responsibilities, social conventions, etc. He gets to "let go". Kind of like how (those of you fortunate enough to have access to a "cabin" or "vacation house" will understand this) when you leave your house for a vacation, your problems tend to stay at home (unless you are one of those truly unredeemable souls that take their work phone and laptop on vacation with them).

I'm probably exceeding my daily quota for posts in a single thread, but I have always thought the best moment of this episode is when Higgins turns to T.C. and says "You called me Jonathon."

I don't get the hate for Tran Quoc Jones. It was a middling season 5 episode but really not bad at all. Kiss of the Sabre was certainly worse - I'd say the worst of season 5. Failed attempt at a Bond parody (which could have been REALLY funny) and I say this as a big Bond fan. But I can certainly rattle off a dozen episodes worse than Tran Quoc.
