Wonder if it'll work. Were they showing a recent episode or trying to show earlier ones?

Also, I respect your commitment to channel surfing. I think most nowadays know what they want to watch and go right to it (or set up the DVR in advance).

That's true (and nice Boss reference!). My family didn't get cable until the mid 90s, so I used to be an avid reader of the weekly TV guide that came in the Sunday paper through the 80s. I would map out the week's viewing, which was much easier with only about 6 or 7 channels to worry about.
