Hi KingKC,

It's buried in the Reboot section somewhere.....I'll find it for you and bring it up to the top of the pile. :)

After this series tanks, CBS should replace it with a yoga instruction hour with Perdita Weeks wearing the outfit from this episode.
Holy Smokes!
Finally a episode with at least two good scenes. Besides Perdita doing yoga, there was Magnum, with no apologies, beating the snot out of the last remaining
kidnapper, out of a need to know where the missing woman was but also out of retribution. When Higgins stops the beating, telling the bad guy his only option is to come clean, he nastily refuses, causing Higgins to tell Magnum, "proceed".
TM then visiting a Dirty Harry like dose of whoop ass upon the punk.
I predict Perdita will come out of this series with her career soaring, she would make a terrific Bond Girl or better yet a Bond antagonist. I am surprised CBS hasn't had her on the Late Show to promote the reboot, I would like to see her interviewed. Not Jay, he should use the time to take those acting lessons, he is terrible, just how did he become a "star" anyway, he has no screen presence.

Just a "footnote" here:

The images posted here, show up for me just fine. Checked and the others that didn't...still don't.....

On occasion, some of them "flash" for a millisecond...then go to the little box as usual.

Don't mean to get "hung up" on this..but just seems odd that the one here in this post display fine, but the rest don't :?:

To quote Andy Griffith..."curiouser and curiouser"!LOL  :geek:

Magnum50.....that's perfect TQ!!!

Did anyone noticed the pic of the Pahonu tidal pool while they were in the study?

They are trying to make Katsumoto more Magnum friendly, but he is still too stiff/uptight for my liking.

Another eye roller when Katsumoto removes his police badge from his belt to avoid upsetting the girl, BUT he is still wearing a Honolulu Police shield/logo on his shirt....come on!!!!

I'm sure Steve was grinning ear to ear when Juliette was doing some yoga moves. :D

Looks like Rick traded in the Benz for a Porsche (final scene).

I don't like how they wrap up these episodes so fast and tidy with a bow on top......I would like to see it a bit more dark at times (I wished that with HFO too) where things are more disturbing and don't go to plan......i.e. the mother doesn't make it etc.. The girl tells Higgins some things that even upset an ex-agent and she shares it with Magnum.

Agree with this. I thought the episode started out well and was building nicely, but the big leap of logic in the car ride when they figured out the scheme was a wet blanket. From there it was a quick move toward the ending. But I was thinking, what if they didn't find the mother? What if Magnum couldn't keep his promise and there was no happy ending? The swelling music at the family reunion was grating.

That said, a few good scenes, and despite the stick that Hernandez gets, he's doing alright in my opinion. I mean, good luck following Tom Selleck as Magnum.

Unrelated, but one other thing I think could have been a good element to keep from the original is the freeze frame that begins the end credits with theme song.

Actually I think this was one of the better episodes for mystery and investigation. I did not care much for the scene where they figured out why a kidnap attempt was occurring. They seem to put everything together so fast it made my head spin. I also had to roll my eyes when Magnum becomes a heavy equipment operator at the end to save the lady. Hernandez still comes off as flat in a lot of his dialogue.

Again, I thought it was pretty good. Kenji is spot on that the yoga scenes added to my enjoyment and I did catch the painting of the tidal pool in the study.
That being said, I guess Katsumoto is supposed to be taking on the original Higgins stiff upper lip characteristics but does seem to be slightly warming to Magnum's charm.
Juliette is more of a partner week to week and seems to be finding more enjoyment in doing so......... this Magnum is terrible at picking locks.....Rick and TC seem to be more ready to help out Thomas at a moments notice perhaps due to events while they were help in capture?
I would like to see in a future episode more about the teams time in Taliban capture, if the mysterious woman in Magnum's past was involved and just an overall dark side of war, gut wrenching story and then go back to a light hearted episode.
I sure wish they would have figured out a way to have Thomas driving around in the 308 as to me the 488 is just too damn much of a super car and although gorgeous, just doesn't look right.........

I have to say this was probably my favorite episode so far. Unlike the others this one was both entertaining and suspenseful. Though I did have to roll my eyes  when TC from his copter spotted trees/vegetation that were a slightly darker shade of green, so Shiggins deduced that this must mean there's a cement structure nearby which would hold more moisture which would contribute to the greener vegetation. Really??? Seems kind of a stretch to me. I also agree that this one felt a bit more like the Five-0 reboot than the others, for better or worse. I'm not a fan of the Five-0 reboot but occasionally they could deliver a pretty interesting and suspenseful story. Occasionally being the operative word.
